Hmm. I am not sure how it is now, but in 2013 it seemed that all the top Corps each had at least one woman.

Immortal Guides only ever had an 11 year old girl. I always thought there was great irony in that. Like we were half way to being an important Corp.

Of course I am certain that several women have come through my Corp over the years, but new players often don't have mics, and there are good reasons for women to pretend not to have mics unless they are confident they can hold their own against any of the men they play with. I mean, when was the last time you heard a woman on coms who was not a PC level player?

While I do think the stereotype of women gamers being generally better at social organization, and thus making good Directors, seems to hold some truth, like any stereotype there are likely plenty of exceptions out there. So I would suggest putting a few more criteria on your selection of directors than simply gender. I would also point out that there are some men out there with good social organization skills as well.

I have heard 3 women on coms, two of which never PC

I have heard somewhere between 20 to 30 women on coms while playing DUST. I don't know if they all did PC, but almost all of them were at least as good, and most quite a bit better, than I am.

Hell, even my wife was better than I am, and she refused to squad up because she did not think she was good enough.
