it changes pitch after each kill, seems like i get it on a kill streak. maybe?
anyone killers out there noticed exactly how or why this happens

It's random. Sometimes you get it during quick streaks, other times on a regular spree. Hell, I got one after coming out of a losing streak.

There does seem to be a criteria for the non headshot gong , perhaps it is an accuracy gong,
If you shoot many bullets into Mr unlucky without missing and nobody is helping you then you get a gong when Mr unlucky dies. |

arms and legs take varying amounts of damge, the different spots where you hit a merc in a final blow may dictate the sound produced

I've wondered the same. I had it a few times today with once being after a rather lengthy 1v1 where I had just over 20hp at the end of it all. |

I usually get it on streaks but it varies in volume sometimes.
Usually when it's 1v1 in an open space you can hear it much louder but when you're in the midst of a clusterfuck it's barely noticeable.

ok forget the clip theory, i reloaded my lazer and got one straight away.
my new theory is...
it dongs after u hit 10 kills (total for the match) and continues to dong every kill after that till u die.
will test tomorow.
or a dev could tell us.....

I seem to get it when I kill someone who shot at me, but never managed to hit me. My hypothesis is that if there aim assist locks onto me or their crosshairs pass over me, but they never hit me then I should get the sound.
Though it does almost seem random at times.
Put your flags up in the sky.
And wave them side to side.

I did get four consecutive head shots in rapid succession (1-1.5 seconds) with a Lazor one time (heated it up on the Heavy, and the Assault and two Scouts were directly behind him, single file running to the objective)
The first gong was typical
The second sounded a bit off
The third was a sound I had not heard before (kinda like a pinched fart)
The fourth never happened as my sound glitched and it was like I was hearing things from under water for the rest of the match.
I still get the same sound glitch from time to time but not as the result of head shot as far as I have noticed.
Blueberry!....Make yourself useful and shoot the blurry thing running this way with YES!
