Who thinks it's a good idea to make it so that when you spend AUR, the game asks for confirmations. All it would take is a little window, something like this.
*************************************** You are about to spend XXXX AUR Do you wish to proceed? [X] Yes [O] No ***************************************

why? you have to confirm already by accepting the purchase after clicking on any buy options
this would add a third unnecessary precaution that only helps those that are overly careless or don't pay any attention, those people usually mess up anyway
did you accidentally buy something?

I could see this, nothing like trying to deploy and hastily add to suit and spend aur. I did this a few times and now slow down on purchases.
Slow down it works and you don't regret it.

This is important because pub matches drop almost exclusively aurum items, so if you want to use your salvage you have to equip AUR items. Some of us don't buy AUR, and the only AUR that we have is what we get rewarded through logging on, and let me tell you, when you spend 6 weeks logging on every day to save up 2000 AUR, and then you blow it all on one accidental purchase trying to deploy real quick, it'll get you pissed real fast.

I think this was the intention when putting in AUR items in EOM rewards.
I know I spent AUR few times on quickly restocking fits with EOM items. |

I realize that, which is a massive part of why I think it's an issue. CCP asks you to buy money, and then attempts to trick you into spending it. You don't see a problem there?
I also understand that slowing down will solve this issue, and I usually do take my time to ensure that this doesn't happen. But two accidents (one I didn't even notice) brought my AUR total down from 3000 to 300, after nearly two months of saving, and a simple "Are you sure?" would've kept it from happening.
I will never buy money in a game that doesn't have either separate markets, or confirmation for real funds. And to think, I was just about to make my first aurum purchase yesterday.

That wont ever happen. You get AUR gear at the EOM because it pays out in ISK. Play FW, almost all the salvage is standard gear, but you get LP for the payout. What needs to happen is confirmation when spending AUR, or separation of the markets. I've never played another game where the markets were intertwined like this, having real and fake currencies spend together is just bad business if you ask me - I know I'll never buy AUR now.

They got me once too and it really pissed me off. It's a bit of a cheap tactic. I hate how we get all AUR salvage. I hate AUR gear period as well as LP. It should all be the same and you just use different currencies to buy the one item. Some items should only be available with set currencies though. |

There are a couple of things you can do. First off the obvious don't restock during battle, if you run out always try and keep at least one free suit to use for the rest of battle.
One thing I have done for a long time is make Aur based suits very obvious when naming them. Something like:
XXXX Don't restock Ass Mass
Or you could just sell the arum items to the vender for isk. Sure it's not a lot of money, being a fraction of the value but it gets rid of the items and you still get something out of it. Plus most of the time you just get basic and enhanced arum items any ways. About the only truly useful arum items you get are Drop suits or vehicle bits imo.
FW isn't a perfect solution either since you get what people die in, and often people use Aur items they got for free to lower cost of their suits in FW. Neo proto suits are a dime a dozen in FW most of the time.

AUR salvage was meant to provide newbies a flow of gear which they can use even unskilled to try new fittings out. I can agree with that but screwing you over when you use it then accidentally restock is just bad business.
All AUR gear should be removed from the game anyway as it guarantees an economy will never exist. Shortcut gear could still come in the form of LP based item bundles and of course from playing the appropriate faction. Sales would be made up for by players buying skins, boosters, and whatever other AUR items players buy to trade for other faction gear. This would make the game work a little closer to how Eve works and provide much more stable revenue streams instead of duping people out of pennies at a time on restocks.

Or quit being cheap?
Maybe even not come on forums and talk about how sadly cheap you are?
You are complaining about the monetization aspect of a free game.
Go play club penguin or something.

So you agree that restocking in game is problematic because it can accidentally cost you real money? That's pretty much what I got out of that.
Any problem that exists in the game (especially when it comes to payment) is worth addressing. You've simply taken it upon yourself to solve the issue by avoiding the situation all together. Myself on the other hand, would quite like to be able to use the restock feature that CCP so nicely provided in game, along side their generous AUR system, without feeling like I'm being taken for a fool.

+1 Not many people have shown real support for discussing and potentially solving the issue.

Wouldn't it be nice if you could use all that free gear though, without any concern you might accidentally spend some AUR? I get advanced and proto drops all the time, either in game or from lock boxes, I'm not about to throw it away just because it's AUR gear.
