I don't usually say this, but... 'git gud scrub'. It's a high power weapon with a small clip. You can kill people in two or three shots and you're complaining you don't have enough ammo to do the job as quickly and easily as you want? Get a few shots in and switch to another weapon to finish if you're having trouble. Alternatively, finish with the bolt pistol, instead. If you're having trouble killing them with a precision weapon maybe you should go spray and pray, instead.

Admittedly I did once go full tryhard scrub and start trying to use the bolt pistol after getting pissy from a bunch of people one-shotting me with them. I used to go scout or logi all the time, so it wasn't exactly hard. I think the aim assist is fine, though. So what if you have to actually stay on target for something? High power weaponry should be precision weaponry. If ADS is giving you trouble, get used to regular hipfire or learn to line up the shot in ADS and then use hipfire.
