I don't know other game that would lag like Dust. It's either because of all that players from who know where or it's simply game design issue.

6mb down 0.3mb up, old 80gb PS3, console has frozen hundreds of times and overheated over the years. and I get lag and also frame rate drops all the time, however the frame rate is mainly when my PS3 gets stupidly hot.
I'm using a wired connection,
I'm hoping to get a newer PS3 although I'm worried I then wouldn't have the passwords for all my accounts! Hopefully a newer PS3 and fibre optic should sort the lag out.

Roughly 30Mbit down, 7Mbit up (VDSL phone line connection).
I occationally experience network latency (rubber-banding), but I have yet to see any FPS drops.

I don't know where in the world you are but I have a friend that works for BT Openreach (telecomms provider here in the UK) and they said specifically that resetting the connection is detrimental as the longer the connection is help open the more stable and reliable speeds the system is able to provide.
Again I'm just stating what a friend told me and who knows how accurate that is, its helped me out no end though to be fair.
Besides 99.9% of 'lag' issues in this game are hardly a fault from our end, I play many online games and DUST is the only one that gets this bad.
I believe aside from networking issues and latency in matches, the DUST code puts way too much strain on our limited ancient devices known as PS3`s. Hell my bloody phone is vastly superior in terms of processing power and RAM compared to the PS3`s ancient hardware.

I don't get Lag in Gallente Research facility, but I do find that other people's Lag is contagious. I Lag out if I get close to the wrong people.
