I don't know about you guys, but I would love for an old and under appreciated sidearm start to make a comeback: The Scrambler Pistol. this thread is open to suggestions about what the community would like to see happen to scrambler pistols and possibly some changes can be made to them overall. I for one would like to see the all changed and give them each more of a unique kind of role. This thread also requests that a prototype breach scrambler pistol as well as the prototype burst scrambler pistol gets added to the game. (I understand it would be powerful and risky to put in, but the game is so diverse in other weapons, this is easily counter able with something with more range). So I've come up with some numbers for each variant of the pistol to get started :)
Scrambler pistol damage now:
62 / 65.1 / 68.36
Potential Damage Changes:
70 / 75 / 80
Scrambler pistol fire rate now:
352.94 rpm
Potential Damage changes:
400 RPM
These changes focus on giving the scrambler a bit more DPS overall and focuses on making it a viable choice for a reliable sidearm. I think that seeing these changes go through definitely give people a reason to use it over the Breach variant or the bolt pistol. while the Breach Scrambler Pistol and the Bolt Pistol have more alpha damage, the normal variant has a faster fire rate which in turn, will have a give it more reliability in sticky situations. the Bolt Pistol and Breach Scrambler Pistol is great to start engagements, but poor finishers, and thats where the normal variant can shine.
Breach Scrambler Pistol Damage now:
150 / 157.5
Potential Damage Changes: (including a prototype variant)
160 / 170 / 180
Breach Scrambler Pistol Fire Rate now
150 RPM
Potential changes:
130 - 150 RPM
Range on the Breach Scrambler Pistol now:
Optimal: 31m Effective: 66m Absolute: 125m
Changes for the Breach Scrambler Pistol Range:
Optimal: 15m Effective: 40m Absolute: 60m
I understand that adding the Proto variant of the Breach Scrambler Pistol is a bit dangerous but so is changing the weapon itself. With these changes I've just turned the now "OP" scrambler pistol into a even more deadly CQC weapon that cant do nothing outside or more that 10-30 meters. This makes the Breach Scrambler Pistol the ultimate tool of slaying shotgun scouts and poorly fit assault frames that stray too close. I've opted for a more powerful psitol in return of losing range and a lot of range. This will reduce the ability of the pistol of being able to get kills consitantly outside of 20-30 meters. again, this could be risky, but i think its a start of bringing the Scrambler Pistols back into the meta.

475-500 RPM
Range for Assault Scrambler Pistol now:
Optimal: 33m Effective: 58m Absolute: 125m
Potential Range Changes:
Optmial: 40m Effective: 70m Absolute Range: 125m
The Asasult Scrambler Pistol is bad. No offense but this really is a joke of a sidearm right now in Dust. I feel this should be the Scrambler Pistol that can be used to engage combat, finish combat, and even use the pistol during the middle of combat as well. But if every other weapon out ranges and out DPS's it, then whats the point? with these changes, I've thought of a more powerful ranged sidearm with a good fire rate with a decent DPS. This variant pistol replicates the Scrambler Rifle perfectly in pistol form, with less RPM, clip size, range and alpha damage. because of these differences, this buff to the pistol should not shake things up too terribly much.

I really feel bad for this pistol. It is relly just sooo bad!! I feel like this Damage buff could really make it a quick reliable sidearm on par with the normal variant. Except this pisto chews through ammo fast ;)

I'm not sure if you are aware of this but the ScP is potentially the strongest sidearm in the game, sure it takes skill to get head shots but if you manage to master that one little trick you can kill anything faster then they can react
400% damge bonus with a head shot means you do well over 200 damage per shot on the vanilla version and over 600 on the breach version which is way more then the BP can do in most cases and the ScP has a way better fire rate even the breach has a fire rate that is comparable without having to charge up every shot
buffing the ScP in terms of damge is a terrible idea they are good as it is even better if you manage to get head shots, the only real issue I have with the ScP is the reserve ammo especially on the burst ScP which gets like 3 mags at full rank

The reason no one uses the other variants of the ScP is because of the RoF causes the gun to over sample or the accuracy being so terrible that you'd be better off using an ion pistol in the case of the Burst ScP.
