I'm recently started EVE online my name is Holyperfecti0n . I'm interested in mining, however my starter ship ( Gallente ) is crappy, only pulling in 17 - 20 k isk a run. Any tips?

if you are gonna mine you should do the respective mission to receive a free mining frigate that has an ore bay and go from there instead of using your starter ship

And I know that Rattati has played EVE, didn't really like it. Probably not the best person to ask for help 
Anyways, you want to get a Venture. It's a low level mining ship thats a good start before getting into Mining Barges and Exhumers

Not sure how this relates to them AT ALL.
Mining ultimately comes down to skills. Skilling into the right equipment and getting the right bonuses only goes second to mining the right stuff. How you handle your mined goods also comes into play.
I wish I could tell you to hit me up but I have been very infrequent on my logins lately.
Basically you need to go through the corp ads and find a good mining corp who will be happy to train you if you really think that is the path you want to take.

I started EVE about 4 days ago now. What you should do is skill into the mining frigates. I think it only takes a couple hours. The Venture (the name of the frigate) has an ore capacity of 5000 m^3. Fit it with two mining lasers and you're good to go. Scordite is almost always better to mine than Veldspar btw. Both can be found above 0.8 security space. Once you skill into drones, you'll be able to mine solo in 0.5 - 0.8 security space and use the drones to fend off the NPC hostiles whilst you mine the more valuble ores.

The addition of the venture made early mining SOOO much better. I started playing when people still mined in Cruisers lol
