Purpose of logi

The purpose of a logi is to provide your team with logistical support. This includes : Repairs, Ammo, Intel, and uplinks. Their are three classes of logi I came up with to help you decide if what logi you are.

Warpoint Hog

The Wp hog is only in it for the Wp's. They love the isk and SP and will not stop at anything to get it. Normally you will run cheap M/1 logi. Typically these are the people who are in logis to progress faster through the game, rather than help their team mates. They are addicted to the repair tool, and will probable run at the first sight of a Mass Driver.

Assault Logi

The Assault logi is a 1/2 logi 1/2 slayer fit. This is perfect for the Merc who wants good points, as well as the kills. They normally average 2000 WP. The typical fit is an Ammar uplink logi; put a scrambler rifle on a A/1 logi. The only downside to this fit is not knowing when to logi, and when to fight. If you fight you lose WP, if you logi you lose kills.

The logi master is there to help their team win matches. The tipical fitting is either a Min, or Am logi. Your more likely to pull out a repair tool and melee them before pulling out weapons. They normally pull in an average of 2500 to as high as 8500 Wp. This fit is HIGHLY profitable, however it costs a lot to use. And normally youll die a lot the more you help your team.

My personal opinion

I think its best to be a Logi Master. If you get good enough youll be able to survive the most dangerous situations while helping your team. As well as pull in ass loads of WP. I call it LOGI GOD.

I'm trying to keep it short, and the majority of people are probable are these. Your getting into the logic to deep. Try to simplify it as much as possible, so they don't have to read one of my published books. Also I was trying to give examples of logi the way I see the today.

My weapons of choice are the AScR and the Breach Scrambler Pistol. Apothecary Artificer Is what I typically run in Amarr Faction Warfare (Sometimes the needle gets changed to just the ISK PRO one though). Its a flexible setup though, I'll sometimes swap the repair tool for the Ammo/Rep Hives depending on what the squad wants. Khanid Logi and Tanker, sometimes AV Heavy or Sniper.

I hardly ever end up in my logi suits in pubs or FW because there's usually so little action that I'm just looking for kills in an assault suit. If there are too many scouts or people playing hit-and-run, I'll pull him out and scan away. He is also fully damped and I keep 1 uplink on him, so I can stay hidden from people looking for me and my team has a fall back point, since I usually keep him in a safe place. The second is my min logi. Reps, Ammo, Nano Injector, and Uplinks. It's my one stop shop logi. He's squishy, but I'll still get kills with 'em too. Completely support class, I'm either making rounds and healing up one person after another, making supply drops with my nano hives, or helping my group push/defend a point. He's fast and agile too boot. Basically my Min logi I use to focus on supporting my team getting to victory, usually I'll pull it out on bottle neck maps, or when there is a lack of logistics on the field. Even on my advanced fitments, there is nothing less than core reps or aprof 5 weapon in my hand. Having spent years in the hills as a mk.0 logi long range sniper (old range table) PBs of 64/0, pub and 42/ in PC with 30 average. Having trained and advanced to Prototype logistical remote rep and transport pilot, Cal Eyrix Logi DS. Having spent years behind the lines as a pirate minja, using critical point defence, hack n slash and chasing heavys in lavs or re'ing tanks. Having progressed through the ranks as a Minmatar assault, gaining Sentinal and Commando learning how critical stairways and also the ability to standup and roll out with a few LAV's and swarms, traits, both in Minmatar and Caldari. Having full 5 cores, two full races of suits, 40 million SP in weaponary, I ran into a problem where i didnt have enough room in my fittigs list, especially with multiple BPO's. So I specced to full 5's all vehicals, all weapons and most with prof with fitting, reload. Cal Mryon that harks no where near the Eyrix Python, and specialising in armour tank sectors. 85k kills 12m warpoints 2.0 kdr and almost permantly broke AF and always, always, still learning. I was good at being a medicine woman,but I had terrible aim with the mouse.(couldn't keep the combat rifle steady enough to to chew through the 700 armour of every suit that came at me.) That said the thread idea is pretty good. If you have a good team, or at least squad going full support is okay. Your a force multiplier as a logi but it requires a force worth multiplying. Running around with rep tool, hives, injectors, scans etc won't help your team that's complete trash. Worst of it will be since you gave up some of your ability to survive/kill to help your team your going to die a lot with a bad team. For day to day matches in both Pub's or FW where you don't have a full q sync or don't really know the people you squad up with I find the uplink/slayer fit seems to have the greatest impact on the battle. Put uplinks down, put them all ove the place then pick a spot or two and defend those uplinks with your life, placing more as needed. Do what ever you can in that area, reps, pick ups, ammo etc but the main point is to provide at least one safe spot for people to spawn in. To many people either don't put uplinks down at all or put em down and move on. Not only can they be destroyed but your team could be spawn camped trying to spawn in. Providing a safe spot near an objective to spawn in continually is perhaps the single most strategic thing a logi could do imo. It's why hacking the CRU's or holding the center objective used to be such a big thing till uplinks became so common on apex suits. Even if your lone wolfing it, if you can provide good uplinks, and defend those uplinks your team will if not win, at least not get redlined. I like to GÇ£engineerGÇ¥ the battlefield by running around placing and moving links according to the situation. In addition I run a scanner. Sometimes I run an LAV or DS to scan and or spawn from an mCRU as well as move quickly to a far or high point to drop a link. I could care less about reps or revives if I can help the team dominate otherwise and avoid needless deaths in the first place. Usually though, I do a lesser version of the above in a light or assault suit. When I want to go full r*tard I run the logi suit loaded up with links, scanner and including nanos. Be it any sort of suit, usually i focus on team support. you'll often see me carrying rep tool/uplink/needle rather than a nanohive on my suits, or if i carry a nano, its usually running with my mates and there's another logi helping out. I also always try to carry a support item on my scouts, Be it links/reps/needles. as for playstyle, I often stick back, I dont often pull out my rifle, but if I do, its usually because someone got too close. If theres a heavy, then I rep him rather than try to kill, I'd rather my mates get kills than me. I've never given two ****s about getting kills. Dust has perfected team support for me, its about the only game that actually rewards me well for supporting my team and not just going for kills :P Minlogi for general support. AmLogi for getting team back into the fight. Gallogi for misc suport. (It does wholly suck to be a gallogi in a way, because you only get points from your squad. I think that should be changed, as you could light up the enemy for the entire game for the rest of your team and you dont get jack squat out of it, when intel is one of the most valuable things you can provide aside from smart spawn beacons for mobility (learned this from other FPS'S.). CalLogi is for slayers, nuff said. I guess I'd be a Master Logi, although I'm personally no master, as I'll whole heartedly admit, I suck at this game :D I'm one of the blueberries that Isn't useless, cause I always have a rep tool, and USE IT. B)
