Heck, take out all plants, and building details.
Limit team size to 8.

Sad part is that some people are actually pushing for things to move in this direction. Stuff like chopping off the map and flattening it so we can all play Dust like it's a tabletop board game

I'd love to have the option to disable special effects (explosions, eq glowing, gloom etc etc). This would make me able to move / see when enemy opens fire in PC.

The maps are large, even when it's only one Combat Area. We only have about 1/5th of every map out there for us to explore, imagine the lag reduction if we removed some of this and made the mountains closer. The redline will block most of it, thus rendering us unable to traverse it.

I actually have "The Danger Game" (that board game CCP sold to get the seed money to make EVE). I hear its really good but I haven't tried it yet.

You would probably be surprised how few polygons are being rendered at that range. The LOD is pretty low on those distant peaks. I doubt you would see much in terms of performance increase.

No, the Danger Game is about drugs and addiction and backstabbing which is pretty funny considering it funded EVE initially.

Which means the computer has to have collision detection held in memory in case someone like me decides to fly out that far. Removing that will free up memory.
Or ideally, the power core idea will free up enough memory that we can actually make points 400-500m away from each other.
Over thinking, over analyzing separates the body from the mind.
