My proto tank costs me over 1.3 mil ISK and all shills maxed.
If I play scared it will last more than one game, but I wont get kills and do too much for my team.
If I fight and support and put myself in the action to give my team cover to take a point, I either die from nades/AV or have to leave my guys right when they need me the most.
How to fix this: Give Proto 1 more slot . Give Proto a little more cpu/pg. Lower delay for sheild activation. Increase sheild duration.
What do you think? |

Which tank are you using?
Gunny, I use maddy to much like a slug
More hp is fine, more slots give us options |

Stop using shield tanks for up close work. They are bad, and no fix will help them in that regard.
both need help and I like sheild.
If I catch a maddy he is dead, does not matter.
Playing around with maddy, but to slow for me. But working on. |

I will try a proto maddy today for CQC
What is your fit?

sounds good, would love to try it. lets do it and have fun. |

Mejt0 wrote:Gunlogi is not in the best shape. Certainly not for blaster in cqc. Madrugar may feel "slow" for you because you probably use a controller to drive,
It's either keyboard / mouse or keyboard / controller to drive effectively. With a keyboard you can simultaneously accelerate and steer.
Yea that might be the way to go.
I do get frustrated when trying to turn around and start moving places I don't want to go because of the way the controller is.
What do you do, sit at a desk in front of the TV to play?
I play to relax, sitting on the sofa reclined. No room for mouse and kybd. |

Larkson Crazy Eye wrote:Frankly I don't think the solution to the problem is to make tanks even more untouchable. It's bad enough for those people with basically unlimited funds can buy such a power up as it stands now. What we need are more balanced tanks that you can expect die 2-3 times a match if your pushing hard, just like proto suits. But the cost could be dropped to maybe 500k max. About twice the price of a proto suit seems far more reasonable imo.
To make such a thing work imo proto tanks (at least duel/triple hardened tanks) need some kind of a nerf while the rest need a bit of a buff. Advanced, basic and militia tanks are just fodder waiting to blow up right now. So the lower levels of tanks could use a bit of a buff some how but that's about it. I rather see tanks that you can risk losing that might die than some kind of unstoppable juggernaut that people expect to last 5-10 battles before they die.
How many kills does a proto suit get a game? How much does it cost?
Using that as a bases, if you weaken the tanks you need to bring their cost down to around 200-250.
weak tanks, cheap price strong tanks, expensive price NOT Weak tanks, expensive price |

I take my Gunni into brawling range to lay down infantry AoD, but not to tank fight. I am having a blast worrying about infantry denial rather than just trying to fight tanks. Be aware of the tank traffic on the map as much as you can and back off and pull up as possible. Engage a tank at range when backed to the redline. Look at the map then pull forward as needed to engage at range when the enemy doesn't see you and doesn't have their hardeners on. I have done better with big D and basic turrets at range than less D, proto turrets and CQ.
I see your play and yes it is smart, but to me that is playing scared always keeping in mind the red zone to run to. No offense, but I will use cover and retreat, but I do not like turteling. Also I use a blaster, unless we are being pushed to red, then I use rail and fight from red. |
