Recently I've been doing a lot of gallente factionals, expecting to be fighting a bunch of shield based suits and rail weapons, instead i was greeted by a flurry of amarr and other gallente suits armed with rail rifles and combat rifles. I signed up to fight the caldari. I want to fight the caldari.

Why would I stop using the weapon(s) I have hundreds of thousands of skill points in just because I am not fighting in that army? Unless you use like 3-4 rep reps, you're not going to have a major impact on a battle simply because you can't outrep damage. With both shields and armor, to efficiently, you must find cover. With shields, 3 CPX Regulators and perhaps 1 ADV energizer, you're pretty much on par with 2 CPX reps and 3 CPX Reactives. This is all my opinion, though. *Scouts United* Gk.0s & Quafes all day.

I want to fight the caldari. considering the state caldari (lolnopunintended) and minmitar are in, theres no reason running anything other than amarr/gallente, their suits are just far superior, playing caldari or minmitar just puts you at a disadvantage and you always want the overwhelming advantage when farming FW, time is money

Because armor doesn't have delays, it on average has higher rep values than shields. If shields aren't interrupted they can have higher rep than armor, but that doesn't always happen (and the inhibition value is practically useless). Armor rep is far more consistent in its rep values. Furthermore armor repair can be augmented by players with rep tools or any variety of triage nanohive. Hnolai ki tuul, ti sei oni a tiu. It seems that FW often becomes slanted in one direction or another (Amaar stomping or Caldari dominating...or vice versa). Beyond the lore based loyalty, I would suggest that imbalance might be amplified by the relatively low number of players queuing at any one time for FW. And if there is one faction consistently getting pummeled, a larger percentage of players otherwise aligned to that faction may do something else. Decreasing the pool further. More teams willing to just mix it up and fight like clones would add interference to the pattern...breaking up the amplified dominance and rallying more players to stay in the fight. And, yes, I recognize the need to cling to some vestige of kinship with our capsuleer creators.... and if it passes the time until we have a clear shot at the stars, then so be it. But when DUST breaks out of this dying system, freeing ourselves from the bondage of our false locals and allowing true clones to breach gravity wells all across the cluster, then we can drop the fa+ºade of loyalty to our captors. The newer generations don't remember Mordu's trials but a few of the originals recall how it began. We should be forced to use a caldari or amarr suit in both caldari and amarr factionnal and gallente or minmatar in gallente and minmatar factionnal.
