don't even bother logging on, the amount of frustration right now is not worth it, just stare at a blank piece of paper it will be more interesting. the daytime crowd make me sick, they're jealous POS and want to see DUST shut down for some reason.
1st game domination bridge map "toxic mood" aka brings the frame rate down to below what it already is!
so NOTHING HAPPENS, nobody pushes nobody moves nobody does ******* anything, objective is chock full of proto tryhards, they eventually realise nobody on my team is anywhere near the objective, we don't even have uplinks down. All you can do is try to run the 100m to the objective whilst knowing you've been scanned THE WHOLE WAY and somebody hiding is going to pick you off before you get there.
so the enemy team realise nobody is anywhere so they decide to push out, with a tank, game over. I decide to snipe but then realise it's impossible because of this ******* mood which puts green toxic spores into the air and generally makes it so you can't see, can't snipe and it brings the frame rate down. None of my shots are hitting because of the atrocious frame rate so I quit as I realise "what am I doing? I'm sat on a hill sniping".
2nd game domination (I'd love to play something else, if only anybody else queued up for something different!!!) The enemies take the objective, I stand in the same spot for a minute or two just to observe, nothing happens, eventually an enemy tanks comes in, when I spawn next I decide to spawn with AV, I get a few shots off then the tank disappears, I'm now stood still in a very slow expensive fit with nothing to shoot at and no supply depot! This is why people don't bring out AV unless they're stood in their redline!
also in this game nobody comes near the objective, it's the bridge map but the socket behind it with the big tower with A down on the ground, I've noticed EVERYONE camps near the CRU, on the otherside near the other CRU, camps on the catwalk or headglitches on that little ledge in the building with the supply depot at the top of the stairs.
I get blown up by some PRICK with a core locus grenades (surprise surprise) I spawn and am immediately killed AGAIN with another ******* core locus grenade!! I then realise our whole spawn is being camped and they have a tank above us farming us too. Brilliant what a great game.
3rd game domination, it's the map with the really high-up catwalk with the 2 large staircases leading up to the objective, both teams start spawned on mountainous hills. The most unbalanced game I have ever seen, prima, outer heaven, nyain chain and random guns on the other side, my team has NO-ONE. the enemy team is using Bons, Thale's, Agimus, it's a losing match, we manage to hold the small building with the CRU near our spawn but eventually that gets camped, as in it's our only spawn point and there's 8 ******* enemies farming it, I leave that one, why would I stay? Why would anyone stay?
So thanks guys it's almost as if you WANT DUST to die! Know why so many people quit matches? Because most matches are only populated by vets, why are most games populated by vets? Because you scared off almost every casual player DUST had! There's only so much bullshit spawn camping someone can take before they stop playing DUST. |

I think most casual players who can afford other systems / games tend to realize how poorly slapped together the game is after a few match and they wander off. The rest are captivated by the spell that is hope but they'll learn in due time.
Hate the game not the player.

The sad thing is as a kid I had almost every PS1 rpg at one point or another, and traded them into gamestop for pennies on the dollar cuz I was / am an addict, and poor haha.
Now that these game engines can do so much graphically on their own, I hope we return to the days of more story driven RPGs that can actually captivate me for more than a few hours lol.

I don't mind the proto or officer tryhards.(more money to get with my 9k apex scout fits) but the scanners are a pain in the ass to both teams. One side always knows where the other is and gets super salty when they die(and ragequit to save their officer stuff) then they grow lazy and dependent on scans and eventually whine that they have no one to play against.
The other side is stuck with the you have been scannes message on their HUD for the duration of the match, round a corner and take a officer massdriver to the face from a logi set up with nanohives and a scanner spamming cores and scans. Meanwhile in PC its a total lag fast due partially to the INSANE amount of equipment(you guys have too many uplinks man,the overhead map lags BAD) on the Field.
Then I realize that I should be napping in a cardboard box instead of typing this reply.

Yeah it's been that way the last few days. Hard to get into a match due to the issues with the servers. You either can't deploy in your normal server or have to put up with lag when you switch to another just to get into a match. Once your in there every match I've had lately is extremely one sided, for or against my team to the point no one does anything. People pretty much give up within the first 5 minutes of a match.
Scanners are a bit of a problem. I love the idea and I think their a tactically great piece of equipment to carry in matches where winning or losing matter. But in pubs they kind of kill the match more than help it. By lighting up every single uplink on the map people tend to go out and destroy them. Once all the uplinks are gone in the area the other team is far more likely to just give up and then your sitting around twiddling your thumbs because no one wants to run from the MCC back to the city or whatever.
If some one actually does come the scanners see them coming a mile a way and what ever uplinks they might of put down and your back to square one. Scanners in pubs is a bad idea imo. There is no incentive to win a pub match like in FW or PC so people give up far more easily and just start sniping or what ever.

Xenogears was awesome and one of the few PS1 era RPGS to have some seriously dark themes in it. That said I was a huge Wild Arms fan myself, though the series got a bit watered down as it continued on to the PS2 and beyond.

Did you know that Xenogears was originally submitted as the FF7 concept? That would have been weird haha.

It is very unfortunate that CCP seems to be unable to understand incentive to win. No amount of work on match making or squad sizes will make up for the fact that in most cases even winning will result in going ISK negative for the match because your money is divided up to everyone including the people who did absolutely nothing.
Keep what you kill is the answer. It rewards a high amount of participation as well as making it so that ultimately you can not make a profit running proto versus a bunch of MLT and STD.

No amount of rewards will compensate for shoddy gameplay.

No. In my full proposal a percentage of everything killed would go into the pool as it is currently. ISK bonuses for time in battle would be replaced by ISK bonuses for WP and passive money for newbies would come in the form of a flat participation fee which is determined based on if your team wins or loses.
Unfortunately no one cares about this because they would rather scream about broken matchmaking.

No one cares about it because there are no dev resources to make any meaningful changes, so people would rather be able to at least play the broken game than sit looking at a loading screen all night, or kill 5 people with their team of 16
