Everyone I've been playing with has been telling me about their issues getting into battles, of getting scottied often, not getting matches, etc.
I believe this issue is because the Dust community has been growing and now we need more servers to handle the load. Look at the PCU on here: http://eve-offline.net/?server=dust
We've been growing, but has the hardware kept up?
I don't think it has.
I believe we need more server space to handle all the new battles.

CCP probably had the same hardware back when there there nearly 6,000 players logged on at once. I don't think it would be a hardware problem.

The servers managed to support a PCU more than double that back when people still played this game.

If it is the same hardware, that could very well be the problem. Equipment's performance deteriorates over time. While a regular server (say for a large company that mainly deals with files) can last for many years, it can be a problem when you have a company (such as a game development one) because the servers are constantly being worked and worked and you have so many people from various regions accessing them. It takes its toll on the poor mechanical slaves that are locked up to do nothing but plot suicide. lol
