Vanilla sniper being snipers during what period?
They haven't ever really been particularly OP. The time where they proportionally hit hardest was a time when the bullet trails actually rendered, so...?

sniper range 450, damage 230, 5 round clip, 50 RPM
BP range 47, damage 229, 4 round clip, 150 RPM
tactical sniper range 350, damage 200, 6 round clip, 100 RPM
see the difference? there's much more to consider but its obvious that they all have their own roles
neither of them is particularly OP, but they can all do extremely well at what they are meant to do and get punished somewhat heavily for missing shots and get rewarded for getting head shots
I could compare them to other weapons but there's no real point in doing so as they work differently then any other weapon so comparing them is a little futile as far as balance goes, and the amount of damage they do can be surpassed by many other weapons even those not used often such as the ScP that does far more head shot damge considering the fire rate and amount of shots per clip, this can be true about the ScR and by far the shotgun and even the Ion pistol that has far more damge potential in CQC when used properly
but if you want to know what the strongest one of those 3 is as far as raw damge per shot its the vanilla sniper
most consecutive high damge per shot goes to the tac sniper
and last but not least most reliable short to mid range damage goes to the BP as the tac and vanilla sniper both suffer from the sway at those ranges

I believe you mean "which is stronger/better?". The term Overpowered is a very specific term that applies a very specific meaning. Neither weapon is particularly overpowered right now, but the bolt is better, more general purpose and a good compliment to your arsenal.

I was watching a Saxonmish video where he was using some bolt pistols..... he recorded much evidence of his shot bending round corners or hitting headshots when his reticule was miles above the enemies head..... 
Aim assist needs looking at on the bolt pistol or better yet, removing altogether.

BP I LIKE. SR needs work. It has some uses but it needs to be a viable weapon to every battle. I'd like a 200m max sniper with POWER. Not saying I want to bring down heavies by myself but be able to fire my clip at Mercs not the air

Certainly you don't forget open objective maps with little to no cover from sniper fire. The maps we have now were built specifically to curb a snipers effectiveness. |

Personally, I just don't understand how anyone could really compare sniper rifle to bolt pistol to begin with because they are too different types of guns.
Bolt Pistols are for a much shorter range than sniper rifles, so OF COURSE their rof and damage generally is going to be high, because you have to worry about that guy running at you with his rifle or other pistol in hand, or grenade ready to mess you up.
Sniper Rifles have a tactical long distance range. If you are a good sniper, you will position yourself tactically (not in the redline or on the mcc like a biotch) and you will make sure you have a good range of vision of the people you're trying to snipe (plus constantly moving around so as not to be taken out by other snipers). You have an easier time of actually getting headshots because you don't have that guy with the rifles breathing down your neck.
It's absurd to even compare the guns side by side because they both require different play styles entirely. To continue arguing over it is asinine.
