Is the Auto-Scrambler Rifle any good now? Is the Rail Rifle still OP? Did we get a respec in Warlords?
I'm currently playing Destiny and Planetside 2. Once I reach weekly cap in Destiny I just move on to play other games. Meanwhile Planetside 2 while really good it's just bland, there's really no character development here. I miss my Dust514 character and badass weapons.
When I left I spent all my points in the Laser Rifle and Amarr Assault suit, but since my character is strong (I play since beta) I wouldn't mind starting a basic dropsuit and a new gun. I'm looking forward to use my beloved Auto-Scrambler Rifle, does the Caldari Assault suit work with this gun? Really wish they just put this game on PS4... |

There are no restrictions on what weapon you can put on what suit. Put Amarr weapon on Caldari, Gallente, or Minmatar suit. It doesn't matter. The "Auto" Scrambler Rifle is call the Assault Scrambler rifle and both that and the regular Scrambler Rifle are considered OP by a vast majority of the community. Rail Rifle is ok, but has a lot of kick. Then there is the Assault Rail Rifle which is also considered by many of the community to also be OP. We did not get a respec in Warlords, but there is now a paid respec feature where you can pay real life money for aurum and use the aurum to buy a respec anytime you want. Hope this helps!

The hardest thing to get used to coming from things like Destiny and Planetside 2 is definitely going to be the lag and low frame rate. It's still pretty much a crapshoot with that. I can't speak about infantry balance, but smooth buttery gameplay is definitely not welcome here lol

When I played this weapon was just bad, no reason whatsoever to choose it over the Gallente AR or Rail Rifle. I wonder wtf did they do to it. The main suggestion for a buff iirc was more range. |

Best I can recall offhand, Rail Rifle hipfire was nerfed sometime back. Assault Scrambler Rifle recently rec'd a significant damage buff ... really good right now.

And I know I'm not alone. I'm glad you get to stomp in smoothness but plenty others don't, and end up watching tanks do spastic dances inside the ground as dropships freeze midair and suddenly appear beside you. If you're lucky or have an awesome connection then apparently the stomping is clear, but I've pretty much never seen it.
like i said, it's a crapshoot. Just be ready

Scrambler Rifle is very much a skill weapon anywhere farther than 20 meters. Anywhere closer and you are basically shooting wildly hoping you don't die.
Assault Scrambler Rifle is better than the regular Scr right now, but even it has its drawbacks.

Both RR and ARR are good but have hit detection problems as every Rail in this game. AScR has more range, damage and less recoil than AR. It was balanced towards armor because CCP can't balance. Guns are now good and more than good. FPS/Lag is not something big unless you have potato internet and overheating ps3. Ps. Laser rifle on AmAss is a beast.

Thanks guys for all the info. I just checked my character and he has proto Amarr Assault, a Viziam Laser Rifle and a Core Flaylock Pistol . I'm glad that the suit skills weren't so badly altered. Currently I have 7.5 million SP to spend, but I'm not really sure in what.
As I said earlier all my suit core skills are at max (level 5 for shields, armor, etc.). I have points spent in heavy weapons skills as I was a fatty back then, but I have no intentions to play heavy again. So those points are pretty much wasted, but I don't think I'll pay $20 for just a respec. Maybe back then I would but I won't spend any more money on this game unless it goes to PS4.
I wanna use the AScR or the RR, with probably the Ion or Bolt Pistol as backup. Back then I dream about that Caldari Scout suit, is it any good? Probably would be a solid loadout for a change of pace from the medium distance combat of the Laser Rifle. Should I go with a medium frame suit (Caldari) instead? |

Well, you can technically accumulate FREE AURUM with the daily logins but that will take a long time to squirrel enough away for a single respec. The free AUR is best used on 1-Day Active Boosters or maybe 1-Day Faction Boosters which can help a lot if you want to rack up enough SP or LP in a short time but only have one day to dedicate to it.
I still spend money on Dust 514 mainly because I want to show my support for CCP Rattati and his team. They did a good job in maintaining the game despite it facing a Creodron Shotgun to its head.
Also, in case you didn't notice, take a look at your fittings. You will see your suits all have proto-level slot arrangements but still have tiered CPU/PG progression. This is the first phase of the "limited tieride" that CCP Rattati is looking into. The second phase would be to implement tiered powercores where the suits no longer carry the CPU/PG stats. The effects of this change would still make suits operate with the exact same tiers and stats as you see now. Just with a different format. The end goal of this is to optimize the in-game assets so that the game only loads about 20 unique suit models at once rather than about 120 at once. If you think about it, you only need one model to represent the M-1, M/1-Series, and Xk.0 suits of the same class and race. Double that if you include the female models.
