So I'm embarrassed to say that I am a closed beta vet (near end of the closed beta though) and I still can't put names to each map. I see people throwing around names like Manus Peek, Poison Pits, Ashland, etc. and always wonder, where do you find those names? Is there a site that shows each map with it's respective name? Is there a site as well that shows you each of the different names of each socket? Any help would be absolutely marvelous! Thanks for the help.

Because I've heard some other names thrown around that I didn't see in there. Sorry to be a pain!

Your homework all be to find out which of the maps these names belong to.

Ah, so you haven't done any homework either? The errors are mostly Node related. Maps have actually... little to nothing to do with the situation.

They're all over the place, but you'll typically hear some kind of reference to either a prominent geographical feature (ex: "bridge" map for Spine Crescent), or you'll hear a reference to the number of points (Iron Delta sometimes gets called "4-point" and Skim Junction "5-point", perhaps with an added "city" to indicate the central city socket).
There's something to know about how the maps work. The playable terrain is constructed from three separate components:
(1) The terrain map - This is what most people would call a "map". It determines the places where objectives will appear, all of the underlying terrain, spawn points, that sort of thing. What it doesn't determine are the buildings that objectives are contained in.
(2) Large socket components (outposts) - Many of Dust's maps have a central area which the terrain map doesn't describe. That area is instead described by the outpost which is placed there. As the name implies, the outposts are the large "city" type structures on these maps. They're listed under that category in the maps sub-forum.
(3) Medium socket components - These fill the holes where some individual objectives go outside of the large socket's area. There might be two or three mediums in a match. Typically they all come from a single set which are racially themed.
So when people talk about "maps", they're usually talking about the terrain maps (Skim Junction, Spine Crescent, etc.). Once in awhile, though, people will talk about large outposts. You'll have to determine from context which is which. You might know all of this, of course, but maybe it'll help someone. >~>

Am I missing the newest map? I don't see the map listed anywhere. It's the one with the "transport" looking things on one side and the big empty field on the south east as well as that unidentified outpost with the Dom location in that crappy spot up on that second floor outdoor area that easily gets camped from the adjoining roof.

I've barely done any homework in the past, BUT most of the time, sockets associate themselves with maps.
Also, it was a joke post. I guess you need to brush up on Comedy 101.
