It's getting pretty aggravating trying to learn how to fly the dropships... in combat... with a full crew on board.
Sorry for all the flips and crashes, people who've been unlucky enough to hop on board when I while I'm trying to figure out how to fly. |

Judge Rhadamanthus has some pretty good tutorials out on YouTube. Kind of old, but for learning to fly they're still relevant. Not like the controls are vastly different. Just do a search for his name, find his channel and scroll to the complete dropship tutorial... |

You should play in domination or skirmish in the safe zone next to your MCC. That way you wont die because of enemy fire nor kill teammates if you crash. And just take it easy, learn how to go up and then land, do it again until its perfect and then try to turn around while flying and then land again. Slow, yes, but its the best way to learn. |

you can also look up some flying tutorials for planet side 2 its not the same as it is in dust but a lot of the same maneuvers can be shared such as backwards flight and banking maneuvers, it helps to know the basics of dog fighting as well even if you aren't in an assault ADS as you will more then likely encounter one sooner or later so its good to know how to deal with them
I would like to point out that flying and being a dedicated pilot are separate things you may know how to fly well but a true pilot knows his craft and its limits

That's a really good idea.
No real reason not to have it. In the meantime, all you can do is practice in battle, as silly as that is. And Judge's youtube videos really are very useful.
PS: Allow me to give you your first ever

Keep trying my friend, I crashed a lot of dropships learning how to fly. Never give up, never surrender, just go on...

While a flight sim might be nice, it'd essentially useless at the moment, as lag and latency changes handling entirely. ESPECIALLY when flying. A .5 second extra lag often leads to a wholly uncontrollable DS. The other day I had teh stick fully forward on my Python, because the damned thing wanted to do a back flip, or so it seemed. Only lag meant that suddenly I went from 50 meters up, to being in the ground and dead. |

I just really don't wanna be responsible for killing a cabin full of strangers who've made the mistake of climbing on board while I'm trying to learn how to pilot the stupid things. The flight controls are terrible on them. Wish they worked more like the choppers in the old Gunship 2000 game, but that's probably just me.

Thanks for the youtube tutorial suggestion, dude.

I would like the simulator to cost ISK (or Aurum) to run.
Simulator maintenance isn't cheap.
100K ISK per 10 minute simulator session.
Nothing's free in New Eden.
EDIT: Alternatively, what if this was a Warbarge subsystem you could unlock? It would be cool if we could walk around our warbarge and go to the Simulator Room, and a hangar with our goodies parked, and all the other rooms.
One day...
