I would like to increase base damage to 40 at militia and have the AR do 60 damage to Shield's and 40% damage to Armor at the same time.(p.s. increase structure to 100points) Ideas? |

Give it splash damage. Not much, but enough to cause secondary burns to targets that bunch up too close in tight spaces. It is meant to be the CQC king of Lights, after all.
Dedicated Commando.

So have it do 24 damage to shields and 16 damage to armor at the same time? Sorry bud but that's not how "health" works in this game. Shields are an exterior protection out of our clones main body, they must be destroyed before you can inflict damage to our armor and then to our body. For example, you need to first break the window of your neighbors before you can hit their 1 million dollar vase.

What about reducing the AR base damage to 25 and giving it a poison effect? ? Having fun with AR ideas.

Each weapon has a damage profile that is stronger and weaker for one type of protection over the other. So 60% damage done for shields vs 40% damage done to armor. Based on a rough estimate of what this player is asking the outcome would be that the AR is more effective vs shields than armor by 20% of the damage dealt. You still need to get good hits, and you still need to chew through their shields to reach the armor but ultimately the basis of damage projection is correct.
For more details on how the game works please check the Dust:514 Manual. Alternative resources include Dust Uni and many other fine corporations willing to train New Bros, like yourself.

I understand perfectly how damage profiles work in this game, I just misread his proposal.
As for the the AR, I think it would be neat if we added some kind of burn damage. When I first heard of the Plasma Cannon and how it was a great are of denial weapon, I figured it shot a huge blob of plasma that scorched the earth for a few seconds making walking over it deadly.

Why can't damage just be incrementally increased from 25m to 0m?

No more AR ideas? How about Plasma residue as the target is hit by a a percentage of Plasma shots damage increases with a three second reset if target is not hit, well? |
