As a Gallente patriot I am predisposed to using my Federation's technology to its fullest effect. That said the Ion Pistol itself is a riddle, wrapped in mystery, in an enigma and submerged in Quafe.
Sometimes it functions as well as a Bolt Pistol though often it feels as useless and situational as the CAR-9 Burst Scrambler Pistol.
If there was any technology the Federation was worried would fall into the wrong hands it seems they made fit it wouldn't be the Ion Pistol. Just like the Empire that designed it, the Pistol seems to lack any consistency at all and that makes it all the more satisfying when it is used to kill someone.
Such a troublesome sidearm. I wouldn't have it any other way

I use the burst scrambler. Its really op if you dont try to rely on AA. just aim at the shoulders. And our time with the bugged apex serpent scouts i found out that the ion pistol is really badass. These weapons arent like the easy mode smg or super easy mode bolt pistol.
Gotta learn your sidearm game.

It is such a unbelievable weapon, both good and bad?! Sometimes it's repeated kills of federation justice being distributed cold.... and sometimes you wonder if your sights have been tampered with?!

At one point I had every Gallentean weapon proto'd out with proficiency..... I've never even done that for Amarrian weapons.
The Ion pistol really is a cool little PDW.

I enjoy getting head shots with it.
On a serious note is it me or when rapid firing it sometimes it doesn't fire ?
Also a clip size increase would be nice .
Last thing I don't understand why when you charge it , your shaking all over the place . It hate it when looking down the sight you cannot line up headshots at your maximum range (10meters) and the ion seight is terrible for aiming anyway
But not to keep it negative or works wonders on cal assaults

All I know is that when you shoot faster than the maximum rate of fire the weapon acts as if you are charging it. Which is annoying.
