Say you're hunting tanks...and you've stalked one for so long that the lily-livered b@stard pulls somewhere "safe" to recall the thing.
If I lob an AV grenade at him while he's outside recalling it, does the explosion of the nade damage the merc outside the tank as well?

If the blast point is close enough to them, maybe. They nerfed the area of effect of AV stuff pretty hard. You used to get people near vehicles with stuff like swarms and AV grenades but now it's pretty rare. I have killed people inside an LAV with AV grenades however without blowing up the vehicle It self.

If you get the opportunity to find someone while their recalling their vehicle Head shot the **** out of them, and take their vehicle..
If the grenade destroys the tank there will be an explosion and that will damage the merc, but I don't think that just hitting the tank with an AV grenade will cause an explosion that can damage the merc.

Yesterday I had just this opportunity. I snuck up behind, stuck a packed remote on the tank (right in front of the poor dude) and handily dispensed with both.
