You can cause more damage using a laser rifle than sniping with a rail. If your blues are, well you know the word, and they run in open they are to blame.

Except for the very few aggressive snipers that can manage 30+ kills some how from a point of relative safety their all pretty useless. Most get 5-10 kills by the end of the match and maybe 500+ Wp if you factor in kill assist. You can do better than that with a frontline starter fit. Sure your KD won't be as good but very few matches come down to clones any ways so going 10/10 with a starter fit does more for your team than some sniper. After all your at least drawing enemy fire and making them waste bullets and time to kill you.

Problem I feel is that there is no real way to kill these guys. (Other than a Pin point accurate group of 5-6 Proto Breach FG all damage modded to the max Aiming and Shooting all in unison) Get one shot off and they will just sneak back behind the mountain they are on. Which is a great disadvantage for my team seeing as how our team cannot bring any more vehicles onto the field without being slapped in the face by these ***** cats.

Oh yes their quite hard to kill, unless your able to save up a major laser strike just to kill them. Which while satisfying is generally a waste and won't help your team win. Suicide drop ship crashes might take some out, especially if you slap on some remotes like a LAV. If you can get there without being blown up of course and can ram a ground object accurately. Look at the bright side range of a rail gun isn't that great and most maps the red line is to far from the action to be much of a threat.
Good proto tanks in general are a pain. Not that you can't kill them but it takes 2-3 guys to do so and a dedicated effort to kill that one guy. It would be better if tanks required crews to operate so it would be an even use of resources. But at least you can easily see a tank on the map. Thale snipers can be 450m+ away and good luck at finding them before they blow your head off.

If your team would had a tanker, he will manage to destroy them (unless they are in mountains where they can hide after first shot) Once again, they can be annoying but they won't prevent your team from winning. Just stick close to structures out of their veiw. There is plenty near objectives.

First, there is no map in the game where you can shoot from your own redline into the enemies, so there is nothing stopping your team from calling in tanks.
Second, on most maps(Ashland is an exception) a redline tanker can only cover a single flag, so they will have no outcome on the result of the battle.
Third, chasing a tanker that doesn't impact your odds of winning in the hopes of some WP is not terribly bright. Why not just let him hang out up there, stay 300 m away, and let him bore himself to death shooting installations?
A redline tanker is not a disadvantage for you team, it is a benefit, the guy won't be helpful to his team, won't come out to play, be happy that it is 16 v 15.

I'd hardly call tanks the cheapest way to get kills. Militia scout suit with a militia shotgun is pretty great at getting kills with no money or SP invested into it. For little more bang for your buck add in at least one point into demolitions to get remote explosives and your killing like a boss for next to nothing. While a tanker might spend what 30 mil Sp to get to proto level?
Those free Serpent scout suits really showed how people with no SP can kill like a beast with a shotgun and some remotes lol.

Which map?
Boulder Rim? Nope
Fracture Road? Nope
Boarder Gulch? Nope
Skim Junction? Nope
Impact Ridge? Nope
Spine Crescent? Nope
Line Harvest? Nope
Iron Delta? Nope
Ashland, the tanks don't have the range to reach from redline to redline, but it is pretty close.
Manus is the only one where there is a chance of that happening, but because the lower side can spawn behind the hill, it isn't practical.
So yeah, you are kidding, or you have never driven a rail tank.

It's not a great view with a very narrow range of fire but I know for a fact you can often take out installations from one red line to the other. A few Dom/Aqu maps you can hope into a rail turret within your red line and take out a few turrets in the enemies. It's the easiest way I get the kill XXX installation missions when I have to. It is however very close to the edge of your red line, close enough enemy scouts and such can easily run in and kill you and get back out. So not the 100m+ red line that people feel truly safe in.

The socket doesn't change the redline.
Don't look at the large socket, it can always change. The underlying map is what determines the redlines.

I haven't played dom on that map in a long time, but in both cases you have safe spawn locations in the back of the redline.
Heck, the most likely place to shoot from, the H 10, H 11 area, you can't even call in a tank in the redline there, you have to come out onto the road. And even then, you still have to come out of the redline to get sights on the enemy redline turrets.
Does the redline on the lower portion come up as far as the H line on the map? I thought it only came up to the I line there, which would put the E line out of reach. Could be wrong though.

Been here since Open beta, Was here when they nerfed it. Was happy they nerfed it. Happier when they nerfed the missile installations range and lock on stuff.. You so much as looked at one of those wrong and they shot at you around the entire match... with I think Infinite range. They used to get me from their redline to my redline in that map spine crescent. **** was too much... and Accurate too
