I haven't helped out VF out and the only interaction so far was a brief conversation how CP cost of attacks with districts

No it gives 80 clones. If he had gotten A & C sooner, that would have turned out differently

They are, I was able to get reinforcements just in time on the reinforcement timer just before the fight started
