Just something simple, or at least I think so. We've got the red lines so that we know what areas we can't go into, but would it be possible for us to have blue lines? Areas that we can visibly see we can get into but the enemy can't, at least not for an extended period of time. I'm not familiar with the layout of most maps, so when I need to retreat to the redline for whatever reason or my team is being redlined, I'd like to know exactly where the boundary is so I can skirt along it and duck behind cover if need be on my way out.
In short, it's a bit unfortunate the enemy can see where our 'safety line' is and we can't.
A possible benefit for having a 'blue line' could be a having a separate, shorter timer for reds infiltrating the blueline, making it more difficult to go behind enemy lines to stomp them into the ground as is common nowadays. |

The redline doesn't need any kind of buff. Direct or indirect like this. It needs more nerfs to punish risk-averse play like redline sniping etc.

My suggestion is to make redline stomping slightly more of a hassle to accomplish and more of a risk. Things like driving an LAV or HAV into the redline to take out the infantry who have barely had time to spawn in before they were shot at and killed again. There's nothing that can be really done about the risk averse avoiding risk. They are going to find other ways to line their pockets or pad their stats without any real risk added to themselves.
And don't you think that redline stomping, literally going into the enemy's redline to kill them at their spawn points, is a bigger issue than a couple of people stat padding? When stat padding is exactly what the people driving into the redlines to kill people as they're spawning are doing? Can you really, honestly tell me that you think some asshat hiding in the redlines with a Thale's who'll quit the second someone takes a potshot at him is a bigger issue than redline stomping? When the stomping is what causes most people to hide in the redlines in the first place?
There's nothing to say we can't have something like this, just a simple mechanic so we know where our redline is so we can retreat to it if need be, and not also have some sort of mechanic to prevent redline tactics. If you're going to say no to the idea, please at least tell me why you think it's not a good idea, or what you think could be improved. |
