I dont know about others, but i want the old Assault HMG back.
Now, before all of you Assault HMG user hang and mutilate me, let me speak.
I dont hate the new Assault HMG, in fact i love it. Its one of my favorite guns in the game.
What im asking for CCP to do is to rename the current Assault HMG to a breach hmg, because well it pretty much is a breach now, and add the old assault hmg back to the game. |

To be honest. The full auto HMG should be the "Assault" variant, the burst variant should be the standard, the current assault should be the breach... and I have no idea on how to accomplish a tactical variant.

Lol. Spools up, increases accuracy, but doesn't fire until three seconds of spooling and then fires a single round that does forge gun damage

+1 to the OP.
Also, you may actually be onto something there, Aeon.
Maybe not a single round, but a low-dispersion, (relatively) long-range variant that only fires after a short spool-up time would pretty accurately mimic the typical behaviour of 'Tactical' variants.
Especially since such a gun would be notably weaker in CQC, both due to the spool-up and the reduced efficacy of low dispersion up close and personal.

Single shot HMG is no longer an HMG. At that point it's a sniper rifle with multiple barrels.
WoW has taught me that Purple means Legendary. This means Quafe suits are the optimal loadout for killing all of you.

I love the current version of the AHMG as it is. The older version was, IMHO, just too weak to be effective. If there's a wiggler in close I switch to the trusty SMG.
A longer range version would get pretty clunky with the (non) reticle though. Longer range balanced with lower RoF / dps and you'd be broadcasting your location long before you even get on target, lol! Probably better off running a heavy with your favorite light weapon Rifle (Commando). Might be fun to try though... |

The old AHMG was a piece of sh*t.
It overheated faster in exchange for 10m of range and 60% of the DPS.
Scouts with shotties could damn near charge right into your fire and blap you without dying on that stupid thing.
WoW has taught me that Purple means Legendary. This means Quafe suits are the optimal loadout for killing all of you.
