An LAV skill or LAV module (passive preferably) that allows for the turret operator to take less damage?
For example if its a skill each level increases turret operator damage resistance by 10% maxed out they would be 50% damage resistant, only the vehicle owner or drivers skill level will be taken into account, If a module then basic 15% enhance 30% and complex 50%.
personally I think it would make turret operator on LAV's a more viable position and encourage some people to get on and shoot the reds in the face instead of jumping out each hit.
also and this is just me here extra slots or PG/CPU please :D?? |

I like the concept but think your percentages are way too high. Somewhere between 3% & 5% seems far more reasonable.
Now with more evil.

That's not a bad idea; LAVs could definitely do with a buff to make them more viable as attack vehicles, rather than only being used for cheap transport.

I used those as an example I agree they would be far to high especially for the module unless you made them non-stackable |

Well, I think it should do 10% damage reduction in all tiers. The only difference being how long it lasts, just like hardeners. This would also be good for dropships.

Great idea here, finally putting the name into play. Light Attack Vehicle. As well as the Derp Ship Idea. +1

Nope, if your driving your car and parking it to get kills with your turret, you deserve to get mowed down.
Get a good driver that's a logi and wear a heavy suit stacking plates. I think it's intended to be a co-op style.

I knew someone else would think of this and say it.
yes you would have those guys that would park and probably get blown to shite for trying to farm kills might I add since LAV's aren't the most durable and if the percentages are done right you wont get that big of a damage reduction you'll still be taking the hits. the main use for this would be so Light Attack Vehicles could actually attack without the gunner getting targeted and shot to pieces before they can take aim. currently LAV's gunners can't really do much especially when it takes a while to turn, gunning on the move isn't really a viable option for getting kills only skimming the old HP bar and everyone knows just to shoot the gunner as he is turning or while he is shooting you because you can drop him or make him switch seats and go away before he can do any serious damage.
it was meant to be played in a co-op style but as it stands that is a challenge since people will often focus fire on the gunner of a LAV and the LAV its self as soon as it rounds the corner |

I thought of that. even cool. also if you could use certain primary's like chasing a tank with a LAV the passenger firing off swarms at it.

Why not have the driver just hop out with dual reps and rep the gunner and the driver.....? Make sure there is an Amarr heavy stacking plates behind the gun and I think you would be surprised.
..... I've actually never done it, but now I'm really curious... Proto blaster turret, Blaster damage mod, a proto Amarr heavy on the gun, and republic boundless rep tool on the car and gun... o.o

but you have to watch out for proto swarms and proto forge guns and proto plasma cannon and proto AV nades and the possibility of the guy repping being killed coupled with the possibility of a tank rolling up i wouldn't say that's a really viable option i mean give a whirl and tell me how it is but i think that having a skill o module that can keep the gunner alive a bit longer while you still have the ability to hit the gas and switch positions on the fly is a much better option

Well the LAV does hold three people... You could still have a driver in the seat to activate hardeners n' stuff . Not to mention if your logi has the vehicle preferred reps.

Not a bad idea. You know how turrets have their cover in front (real life military jeeps, in games etc)? I always think, why don't we have it in Dust? Player operating a turret should have a cover in front of him to effectively use it.
