Would like if the name/names posted on HUD of who's speaking. Including a indicator of where they are located while speaking on Overhead map would be a big help also.
Going with the Grid overlay idea if implemented, a post inside the HUD of what section your in could be a great add for quick shout outs without having to look at your map.
Name display connected to player speak could also have their current sec posted next to them ( ZionShad: A1)
Thank you ZionShad |

I had a frustrating moment the other day when I was flying a dropship and someone asked me to pick them up. I couldn't figure out which of the five people with mics was asking. I even brought up the communications panel to try to see, while I was flying, and almost crashed into a mountain. So this is a must. |

I share your pain on this being a dropship pilot. I've even droped the idea for some kind of Smoke also. Give them a flare gun if you want. That wouldn't be bad ether. |

This would be great. Also could combine in with the grid idea that someone had. That way when someone talks it shows their grid location. |

I agree we need to know who is speaking. A mic indicator above or next to the players name would be very very helpful |

This request is under our radar***, with a +1 by me as well. I think* that it's one of the "under development" things, but I'm not sure**
*"I think" means that "would not surprise me if" **"I'm not sure" means that "I'm actually not sure because I don't have any dev roadmap to browse" (disclaimers for great justice)

Yeah this is a pretty common feature in all games that have voice chat, even EVE has an indicator that shows you who is talking. The fact that its "under the radar" for them is honestly very surprising to me. If the game releases without this feature I foresee much rage from many players. |

I think "under the radar" is a geographical slang term for "on the radar" in the US. Remember - CCP is an Islandic country with different slang than what we might be familiar with. If you read the context of the rest of the post, it seems to me that they are aware of this, or at least the GM feels like they are considering this.

Fair enough, I talk with a lot of people from other countries, so trying to keep track of all the slang from different cultures gets confusing as times.
I'm sure they'll get around to it eventually, I have faith in the devs to make sure essentials like this make it for final release. |

I believe GM Unicorn meant to say "on our radar". That is the expression as I commonly see it used here in the US.
Anyways, he essentially was saying that the devs are aware that this function is being requested by nearly every beta tester, which is as far as we can go. I'm sure he will tell us if he finds out that it's in development. |

Must have. +1.
Would like to see it in warbarge, in-game, and on the overview map. Integrating the indicator in the squad list also necessary for slick gameplay.
Better communication, teamwork, team building, and a must for social interaction. |

I think it's less of a desire for proper use of Radar and more of a desire to know which of the polar opposite meanings your words gave off.
Not that I don't believe in a good effective use of radar, in all its many functions. I very much enjoy the lack of falling aircraft in my area. |

Sometimes it is annoying to hear it, other times it perks up my mood during a horrible match. Whoever is doing it should accidentally fall into a pit of hungry alligators.
+1 for that one button that isn't used that could toss up a blip or something for dropship pilots to run over and pick someone up.
Or heck, even if it is some sort of localized voice thing for us to hear in the area. |
