CCP could build a massive game for both PC and PS4 platforms. CCP it's time for this game to evolve. Did anyone know PS4 is current Gen now. Oh how technology evolves hopefully when this game arrives on PS4 the vision that CCP had for the game back in 2011 will one day be a reality. It's been 4 years since Dust 514 invaded my living room, and it was fun, time to bring that fun into the technological future.

They haven't really talked at all about working on it for the last few years, just perfecting Dust on PS3 (and it's far from perfect). Simply put even if they sat down and started to port it to PS4 now it would either A) Take to long and the PS5 would be out before it was released or B) Be even worse than the current dust and filled with more glitches. Not to mention if all works well it just extends the life of the game by maybe 3-5 years. As much as I hate PC gaming and the endless grind to keep your computer able to play top of the line games PC is the only real viable solution to a long term gaming strategy. If they want Dust to be around as long as Eve exist, it should be on the PC too.

EVE and Dust 514 should be remade as one game in one living, breathing world. One day Dust Mercenaries will get to board Capital ships and fight along side EVE pilots. CCP should look at Star Citizen.

Well I would think after dominating Dust 514 in the Top 15 when I use to play and got put on Dust 514 spotlight for being the fastest player to topple the leader board in 3 categories someone would hear my need to see this game evolve. I hit Meta Level long ago. I forgot how rude people are on Dust 514. If Dust 514 ever gets put on a PS4 that will be a win for Sony and the PS4.

The rudeness wasn't aimed at you, forgive me and I agree it would be good, but dust was on a winning streak and then they ruined it. Its clearly not in sonys list of priorities. If you want to be a peasant and say that PS4 is better, then you shouldn't expect this game's potential to be met. EVE is written in Python which makes it single threaded which is why it needs to run on the mainframe and even then experiences server lag when too much happens at once. EVE is a third person space ship game and can handle a great deal more lag than an FPS. Well, that's more of a reason that Valkyrie will never integrate with EVE I suppose. DUST could run on its own battle server and integrate like it does today where we don't actually interface in any twitch way. We won't ever get ship boarding for political reasons. EVE players would riot if Mercs were allowed to hurt or steal their ships.

The PS3 uses a cell processor which makes programming for it very complex. The reason is because developers have to predict how the cell processor will respond. Unlike a normal computer that simply does what it's told the PS3 sees it's commands and decides how it will get it done it the most efficient way. This sounds good, but it leads to a lot of illogical conclusions. So developers have a more difficult time programming for it. Though, when used to it's limits it is an impressive marvel of hardware. The PS4 is basically a PC with it's hardware set in stone. Trying to recode Dust 514 to run on PS4 would be so difficult that CCP might as well make another game. If Dust had been on Xbox 360 and was going to Xbox One then it would be much easier because both of the Xbox's are basically PC's. Also, the speculation that if an iteration of Dust is made for the PS4 that it would be just as difficult to port from PS4 to PS5 as it was to go from PS3 to PS5 is most likely wrong. Sony probably won't try to revolutionize processing through another Cell like processor so going from PS4 to PS5 will probably not be an issue at all. Though, the heads if CCP probably don't want to make any iteration of Dust 514 because they see it as a semi failure project along with their other projects that have died off. It may take a bit more coercion and profit to convince CCP as a whole to continue Dust 514. Put your flags up in the sky. And wave them side to side. Show the world where you're from. CCP has a lot to gain by making Dust 514 on the PS4. Many people already play EVE but the console market has barely been tapped by free to play games. Also, compared to similar free to play titles Dust 514's model is extremely reasonable. Some people say that Planet Side has already taken the market, but Planet Side has no depth. It's very casual. Dust 514 has the potential to become a game people can invest in heavily for years. The biggest obstacle is a shrinking playerbase and lack of content. Put your flags up in the sky. And wave them side to side. Show the world where you're from. Show the world we are one.
