Tell me the stories of your worst rage.
One time, I raged so hard that I kicked a door in, obliterating the flimsy plastic bin on the other side of it.
Another time, I repeatedly punched a concrete wall, grazing my knuckles.
You'd be surprised if you knew me irl, because I never, ever get angry, and I have a very long fuse.

Frankly, the only reason my controller has survived this long is because I know that if I break it then I can't play Dust anymore. Even though Dust is the reason I want to break my controller in the first place. Not breaking something because of this game is honestly the most trying ordeal of self restraint I have ever had to endure.
All this pent up aggression at the game is going to kill someone at some point. |

Damn Dust rage.
The most I've raged in Dust is:
Immediately after a Domination Defeat where in my team had a total of 10 or so kills in a Skirm, I proceeded to turn off my Console and do pushups for a couple minutes.... I did the pushups so I wouldn't rage hard enough to punch a hole in my wall(Done this before over some petty stuff I can't remember.)

On more than one occasion I've broken my control by bending it inwards.
Im a chef and my job can be very stressful at times (I'm afraid to admit) the hours are long and I don't get much time to play, so when I do play and people start doing tryhard stuff that just pisses me off.
I've nearly snapped one in half
Though one across the room and broken the part that keeps the joy stick in
But still I love/hate dust

Ive had some moment in Dust 514 that I would die from the most BULLSHIT DEATHS. I just wanted to smash my ps3 controller to the ground, get my ps3 and throw out the window then my tv out the window. Then I would take a picture a blame it on those **** suckers who use modded controllers and file a suit against them.
Thats ny fantasy but ifl I would do it but I would deeply regret it lol

I don't take it out on my stuff because i don't have the money to just replace it. But i do tear up my room, then when i calm dwn im like crappppp i gotta pick this crap up don't i? I have extreme anger issues so for everyones safety i really shouldn't play Dust.
At the same time im learning to control my very VERY, actually its not like a fuse. Its more like snap your fingers i pissed. It happens literally that fast. Apparently it runs in the family. xD

Which one? They're all just as bad. Shoddy game mechanics and lazy mechanics that allow scrubs to run easy mode items like heavy suits et al that CCP might as well just reduce the game to those items.

I have one of the more sturdy controllers (cost 20$ more so it can take some punishment) and was playing a domination match. I was a newberry at the time trying his first proto suit. Upon entering the city (the point was in the city) I got shot by a Rail rifle, I survived and ran to the objective, to my surprise 3 core locus grenades were thrown. It was like they were handing me a Bologna sandwich and I just ate that **** right up. There was nowhere to run without taking some serious damage. They explode but I'm still alive. I rejoice when I'm then shot by a lagging rail rifle. I called for help but a core locus terminated my clone.
I went furious and used by controller like a hammer and went full on Mario with that ****, making a hole in the furniture, breaking a hole in the bathroom door, and hammering 2 holes in the drywall of our house. We plastered everything up but it's still noticeable as a reminder to all who enter that house to never play DUST.
We are made of the Dust, born of the Dust. Our strongboxes are yet to open.

my old joypad had a piece of plastic that rattled round inside, you ever had that?
Well im blasting Dust and im checking out a sniper in a high point just head popping blues, so i run to a supply depot switch my fit a go for a jog round the map. eventually im approaching the rear of the snipers nest, im sneaking right up on this guy like as soon as i switch to my tac rifle it literally touches the back of his brain pan, i pull the trigger and 'what?' the piece of plastic that rattled round inside has jammed my trigger button, i look at my pad and shake it slightly and look up as this sniper with freaking tingly spider sense spins round pulls out his sub machine gun and peppers me to death.
I just look at the pad, then the screen, then the pad again and lauched it at the nearest wall as it explodes on impact. I switched off the ps3 and walked to town buying a new one for 35 quid,

Probably not the -hardest- I've raged but definitely the most recent.
Talking with some bros on Skype about how I think it's bupkis that the AR doesn't have the same guarantee of murder in CQC that the ASCR/ARR does at longer ranges, comparatively (DPS difference is insignificant, damage mod factors, etc but the range capability far exceeds the AR. 30m range > 30 DPS).
No sooner than I'm talking about this, I'm running Prototype Gallente Assault with a Duvolle AR in Gallente Research Facility socket. See guy with Adv Amarr Assault with a SCR. I get first shot and knock his shields down to zero, he takes cover, I push the attack. I'm like, 5-10m away from him and -SOMEHOW- he kills me because I can't get enough DPS on him to matter.
I had better gear, probably more SP in general, a weapon far better suited for use against armor, first strike, well within my weapon's intended range, and had all the cover in the world. Still lost, somehow.
I flip my **** and slam the controller on the floor and watch it explode.

The absolute -HARDEST- I've raged was when I played a completely different game (Metal Gear Rising) on the hardest difficulty and got to the final boss, Senator Armstrong.
I had friends over and they were rooting me on but no matter how hard I tried I just -COULD NOT WIN-. I'd get him down to the very last stretch of the fight while he was in the giant mech and I would always lose because of the stupid quick-time events that require you to cut a tiny square repeatedly using only the analog sticks.
I'm just about to get through it, stressing out, the boys are cheering me on, annnnnnd I screw up at the last second and die.
I throw the controller down and look for the nearest object (because if I don't break something I'm going to punch my television) and that object was a full, unopened can of Coca Cola. I grab it, furious as ever with murder in my eyes and squeeze it in my hands as hard as possible - like I was trying to choke it death - while shaking it violently and screaming. The can straight up -explodes- in my hand and the aluminum bits cut my palms up, coke everywhere, friends bust out laughing despite me bleeding all over the place.
 I never did beat that game on the hardest difficulty.

So let me preface this with the fact that I DO NOT curse in front of my parents. Like ever. No real moral reasoning, and they have no issue with cursing themselves, it's just something I never do.
However about a year ago I lost my job after getting into a fight with a drunk customer and had to move back in.
Before I got my new job, I of course had a fair bit more time to spend playing Dust, and on one occasion, I kept on running into BS death after BS death and was on a record length loss streak. So finally after losing yet another proto suit to a framerate drop and a militia shotgun, I straight up lost my ****.
The ferocity of the string of curses I let loose was so intense, it lasted through the bleedout and the last third of our MCC armor. And these were no kiddie curses, I was raging for real, **** like hunting certain ******* down and murdering them with their own femur after I had sharpened it with their own teeth. And I was legit red-faced standing and shouting this stuff.
So after I eventually regained a bit of composure, I noticed that my door was open.
And then I noticed my mother standing in that doorway.
I have never seen her more aghast before or since that moment...

No games make me rage like Dust. Getting hit by 3-4 different tanks all in their redline? Games being 4 v 16 with the 16 pulling out their best proto gear? Not getting a kill with a shotgun point blank because the lag is so bad that you are always a couple frames behind? This is just a small part of what Dust does that makes me rage... In the amount of games I've played I've never raged like I do with Dust...

Dust makes me rage like no other game. Usually more than an hour of play and I'll be screaming at my TV till my throat hurts. Thankfully, I'm pretty good at just putting the game down at this point and can usually... occasionally avoid that... Never thrown my controller though... self control and the $54 price tag help.

I have worn three sets of analog sticks out playing this game.
The second one was only 3 months old and started right stick drifting when you let off it.
After a month of dealing with it and watching reds wonder what I was aiming at, I rattled it furiously until the thumb cap broke off..... Just to force myself into buying a new one.

I was raging so much yesterday that every time I got killed no matter if the player was n00b or Vet I would scream at the TV saying " FlCKING PU$$Y!!!" many times and the most hated weapon that I really hate the most is the Mass Driver = BULL ******* ****. I was so pissed off that I sweared every curse word and yet, my parents were home = Oh ****.
Then on another battle this prick Titan from corp Skill of F A G S kept killing me that I ordered my entire squad to go to the objective while I deal with this prick 1 vs 1. He killed me 2 twice but then I faced him and the 3rd time I killed him and then I said while he was dead " you have the right to smell dees Nuts and STFU you ******* PRICK. You are messing with a Calmando so SIT THE **** DOWN!!!"
3 minutes later the idiot is raining down Mass Driver shots and a tank form our team road kills him = Good I hope that ****** doesn't mess with us.
At this time the match was turn into a ******* S L I D E S H O W !!! = WHHHHHHHHHYYYYYYYYYYYYY For a game that has crazy moments WHY HASN"T THIS **** EVER BEEN FIXED!!!
One day I will smash my controller and PS3 and when that day arrives I'll be happy and free from this Curse.
I like Dust 514 and I enjoy it but the moments of anger, rage, and of crying of madness happens many times.
Oh yes one time I almost cried and said " omg why why does this game treat me like **** after today I took my exam and this is how CCP treates me, with the stupid ass lag that favors the poor players while I pay $50 a month for my internet."
I dont like getting angry but Dust is the only game I enjoy but also Rage. Its a game where I can let all my anger out lol.

I often put twisting force onto my controller when I get one of these wonderful "spawn to kill a tank, get murdered by infantry, spawn to counter infantry, get murdered by tank, spawn with AV, hit tank once, get killed by sniper while the entire team is going full potato" matches.
Or when I die because the equipment wheel decides to be an ******* or my weapon bugs out or a Cal scout turns invulnerable somehow. Or a ******* shotgunner/nova knifer hits me while I'm driving back a bunch of no-skill protostompers in standard gear as the sole fighter on my team.
Seriously, **** all of the out-of-nowhere instant kill sources in this game, outside of forge guns and railguns. When I die to those, I at least feel like I deserve it for standing in the line of fire.
Shotguns, nova knives, sniper rifles and soundless ADS (happens occasionally, for whatever reason) need to die. REs get a pass for requiring foresight since the anti-frisbee patch, though.
I think the worst situation might be getting steady instant-deaths during a protostomp, with vehicles everywhere, to a degree that I don't even get SP because of the WP threshold. I've had that happen three times or so in my time of playing this game since the feature was introduced.
Thankfully I never broke anything, but I'm often close. I've quit the game about three times and always came back after about half a year or so. I might be SP addicted. Seriously, passive SP might be one of the most intelligent design choices in this game.
Last week I was pleasantly surprised when I switched to Cal Logi and had three or so incredibly satisfying matches. I didn't know this was even possible in Dust.
Afterwards, all of my matches, even the ones as Logi, were utter ****. I guess it was just a fluke, instead of a result of my new role.
I miss this experience of being the guy to keep the entire team together, reviving everyone, putting out repairs and restocks and also constantly getting kills, with strategic switching of my mode of interaction. I felt like a super soldier, instead of just some disposable clone grunt. |

The only thing that makes/made me rage was the struggle to get my PS4 controller to hold a charge......then I plugged my cellphone charger into it and BOOM. Years were added to my life.
Beyond that I don't rage.... was pretty put out on Sunday after our 3rd FW loss but I realised that it was a good thing. It meant we had to get better and improve more to beat our opposition...... that an costing an O.H tankers 2x Proto Tanks by stealing one of his made me feel like more of a winner than if I'd actually won.

My brother came to my house once and I was playing Dust, I showed him the game and that and he asked if he could have a go after that. I said OK and I play a quick match while we're taking I get in a MFW match and I start playing and I start dying to stupid **** comstantly. I'm fuming by then and the last straw is when I accidentally shoot a railgun with my six kin. I run over to some blues and I get cu*tblasted so hard and my brother starts laughing. He left a couple hours after we'd made up and I apologised for punching him in the stomach.

I get that lore plays a big part. One of the many reasons I love Eve Online, Elder Scrolls, World of Warcraft, and many other MMO games. I just felt like Destiny fell short of the promise and potential it had. It felt like a cheap knock-off.
