Ambush can be improved. Here are my suggestions.
- Merge regular Ambush with Ambush OMS. - No vehicles - No orbitals. - Limit map to a single large city socket - Possibly make ambush 12 vs. 12 - Meta cap (we can at least start by outright banning officer gear, and go from there)
Why?
Ambush should be the fast pick-up and play game-mode. Vehicles really just ruin the experience.
I understand OMS tries to be 'bigger and better' than regular ambush, but we have objective based game modes for that.
Making the maps smaller and limiting to one large city socket would speed up the action: no more running around the map looking for the enemy.
12 vs. 12 would make it easier to find (and fill) matches. There would be more games happening, which would also end faster if players are grouped closer together. Less wait times!
Potential Downsides
Can no longer farm fields of redberries in a double hardened Gv.0
Can no longer rep-farm for orbitals to drop on fields of red berries.
Harder to stomp in general.

Hi Talos! Pretty sure that Vehicles of all types can no longer be called into Ambush or Ambush OMS matches. The only real difference between regular ambush and OMS are higher clone count and higher number of installations.

I don't understand, you want a less assets deployed, no objectives map where it turns into blue on blue fire at the end to see who is the top dog? Fac War ambush maybe?

Not blue on blue, teams don't change.
If your team reaches zero clones, but you are still alive, then you will have to survive for one minute, if you do, you get 1,000,000 bonus ISK.

That would be awesome in a smaller environment. Like you said, right now someone could hide out for a minute fairly easy in a corner of the map somewhere.
If you are going to do the million ISK bonus, set a timer/countdown so for every second you get 16,666 ISK ( 1/60th)
The longer you survive, the more you earn. Or may be cut it in 1/2 so 8,333 every second for a 500k payout but if you hit the full minute it doubles.
