Why don't we just go a step further and make cores into specialization mods?
Like adding a new core to a assault suit would shock assault, which would get different fitting bonuses and such. Or adding another core would make another type of specialize assault.
Hell, maybe it go a step further and keep the frames(probably a bad idea, seeing as they would have to go back and rework everything)
Just to be clear, I really like the core ideas and all the new suit mechanics, I'm just curious why we don't do away with Proto and advanced suit in favor of a specialist system.

Gameplay wise it's gonna be the exact same thing to what we have now. It's just right now we buy different tiered suits with different fitting resources. With powercores we'll buy 1 suit. We'll get the fitting resources from the different tiered cores. So it'll be the same exact thing to what we have now except the game wont have to load up different tiered suits. Less loading work for the game/PS3 should translate into better performance. The suits themselves will probably be dirt cheap so the pricing on the cores will probably keep the money management aspect in line with what we have now.
