why all of a sudden am i seeing a massive increasse in fac war activity? did something change to give people a real reason to play it?

We got a huge LP Increase. if you win you get 1,200 lp but as you level up in standings you get more.
if you lose = 300ish lp
Boosters are worth it.
1 LP Booster = 29,000
2 boosters 3,700ish and 3 boosters around 4,800ish.

Squad sizes changed to 4 for pubs, 8 for FW.
FW matches will typically have a full 16 v 16. Pub matchmaking sometimes has matches of 10v10 or lower and uneven.

What are you talking about?
I get 4k LP a win with one booster going.

There's more activity because the large corps enjoy q-syncing and kicking the crap out of the berries because unlike in pubs, there is no matchmaking.

i can see the apeal in using q sinqs to turn fac war into a more competitive atmosphere.
its not so much about stomping as it is using the tools to bring your whole team and play like its a PC match.
would make good practice

It's a glitch, normally you don't get the crazy high LP payout. It's a glitch with the boosters, which will prolly be patched soon.

Practicing against people that can barely survive a day without inadvertently killing themselves is hardly good practice for PC's against competent mercs. If anything, it will make you fat and lazy. PC practice should be against corps in PC that you know you can beat. You'll at least get a challenge.
Dreis nailed it. It's the easiest way to stomp since Dust was created. That's why you see so many 'elites' doing it.

It's not 'good practice'. It becomes a redline within... 4 mins max?
It's not 'practice' if it's against randoms. It would be practice if two corps intentionally q-synced against each other.
ATM, FW is where you go if you want to stomp.

It's the 8 man squads.
There are tons of squads running. No need to find an FC and set up Q-syncs anymore.
Before players would wait for the giant Q-sync to start, which sometimes never would if key players weren't on.
And if players couldn't get into the Q-sync they wouldn't bother playing at all, making FW a pretty exclusive game mode.
The new squads have been a massive success for FW
