So I've got a problem. I love the fast suits. I love mobility. In every game ever where I'm offered a choice between mobility and endurance, I go mobility because if you aren't getting hit, you bypass the need for endurance. Flawed logic, I know. That's not so much the case here in Dust, though, where you're fighting skilled, or sometimes stupid (which is arguably more dangerous), human beings rather than predictable, if annoying, AI. But **** the installations if you accidentally ping one with a BB gun. Accidentally pegged a rail at 200 meters and it got me on the first try as I was scooting behind cover two feet away.
Back on topic, lately I've been using a padded medium suit over my usual jump or hacker scout so I can actually work on my gun game without dying in half a second. Amarr Assault, to be exact. I've been getting decent and I like the fit I've got going, even though it's just basic scrubby 'shove HP down its throat'. Five enhanced Reactor Plates for decent HP and regen. But, it's only a standard suit, so while it does decently enough I can't really fit as much as I want on it outside of those enhanced reactors. I bought a couple of advanced suits out of the Amarr LP store, from back when I was new and did a couple of Amarr runs, and it gives me exactly what I wanted out of the suit. So I'm kind of wanting to skill Amarr Assault to level three so I can just buy them, rather than waiting for my Amarr LP to run out. I'm not running Amarr FW. They don't have anything I want and I'm invested in Minmatar.
The only reason this is even a dilemma for me is because, while I do like my Amarr Assault, every single one of my main suits is a Scout, minus my logi and forge gunner, and I know I'd do a hell of a lot better with them if I had some sort of speed boost. Somehow I've gone this long in scouts without ever skilling into the kinkats.
I've finally raked in 500k SP and, funnily enough, this is just enough to get Amarr Assault from level one to three, OR to get Biotics from three to five and take the first level in the kinkats. Give or take five thousand SP which I guess I can use to skill into smoothie drinking or something.
I can go Amarr Assault and be the blueberry everyone knew I could be, or I could go for speed and improve the all around effectiveness of my suits. The speed will be beneficial to pretty much any suit, but won't be incredibly useful until at least advanced, which means even longer. While Amarr Assault will give me exactly what I was wanting out of the suit and I wanted to get better with my gun game, anyway, but I can do that on the standard, albeit it with a lesser potential.
So which should I do?
TL;DR : Should I get Advanced Amarr Assault or Basic KinKats? It would take all my SP to get one or the other. |

Rail installation haven't shot at infantry since back in uprising 1.something Also it seems to me like you have a need for speed, which begs the question why amarr? I would say go adv amar and use mlt kin cats for now... This happened maybe two weeks ago. I was using a sniper rifle and saw someone run up to the installation and he happened to be facing my side. Zoomed in on him and lined up, but he cancelled out and moved right as I pulled the trigger. And then boom, one-shotted by the installation as I was scooting behind cover. Maybe it wasn't supposed to happen, maybe it's still a thing and you just haven't noticed because people don't generally shoot at the installations. Dunno. |

I'd then suggest getting a semi-durable fit (you want to shoot for about 600-700 EHP) and running - brace for it - a Scrambler Pistol. Mr Mustard suggested I do this way back in the day and after I did so, my gun game improved two-fold.
Give that a **** for about a week or so, then switch back to a rifle and see how well you do :3 I'll give it a shot.
Also, is it 'mr mustard' or 'mr musturd'? Because I've seen both. Same guy, is one an imposter, what? |
