Wind in the old RPG type things is often depicted as Green, Yellow for Earth, Red for Fire, Blue for Water.
Though rather than look at colour look at the cultures behind it.
Gallente = Earth Kingdom. They are the last bastion of freedom from oppression and their direct opponent in the war between nations are the Fire Nation.
Caldari = Fire Nation. Built of traditions of respect commitment to ones culture they plan to use the power of Sozen's Comet [Super Capital Crashing] to crush the Fire Nation.
Minmatar - Water Tribe. Need I say more? Groups split into tribal elements who are incredibly bitter and want revenge.
Amarr - Air Nomads. The only faction concerned the the transcendence of the human sprit.

Many of them just aren't good enough fits to be definitive, but I think Air Nomads make more sense for the Minmatar given how much Minmatar value speed, and Minmatar are often nomads (especially the Thukker tribe). The Minmatar suffered greatly as a result of an unprovoked attack from an imperialistic military superpower (the Amarr), much like the Air Nomads suffered at the hands of the Fire Nation. Spirituality is also a big aspect of Minmatar culture.
