If I know I'm fighting a competent player I do not hold back. Its either me or them. But when I see someone who clearly just started I try not to brutally kill them instantly unless they are a direct threat on a flank. I know its not how I learned to play, but I feel like a **** because I have Prof 5 and lvl 3 warbage and I always run krins dmg mods.
Do you show mercy to a new player in hopes they can learn how to fight a little better ?
Example. I was in my dren scout shotgunner on Manas Peak. I found a gko logi with a charge sniper in a terrible sniping spot. I shot him once in the chest and then I stood there watching him with my sidearm. He stood still in submission. After about five seconds of eye lock, he stepped forward charged his sniper and no scoped me. He went like 3/7 and I went like 20/6.
That's actually a pretty bad example. I'd like to read anyone else's thoughts or stories ?

Yeah I do.
It's why I don't play pubs in squads very often, and when I do I usually only run BPO's.
I don't see the fun in stomping new players

I like toying with some enemies, espicially non amarr logis with swarms. At first they try fighting until they realize they can't punch me, then they try running and its almost as if they give up on life when they see me pass them and turn around

Ahh the ol logi swarmer. I used to get a kick out of watching them run before I shot them in the back. Now I just let them run unless I know they got backup.
I used to just dodge plasma cannon people unless they knew what they were doing and lead me, but now I figure that anyone with a plasma cannon has multiple myofibs and deserves a quick death.

Eh I pretty much never run full proto, my 50k or less apex fits are mercy enough imo. The only other mercy like thing I might do is I pretty much never invade the redline unless the team gave up so early I need it just to get 150 wp lol. Not only is it a dck move to kill people as they spawn in the red line, it's rather dangerous for you.
Some might say I'm cruel in that I almost never try and hack CRU's, I'll spawn camp them till the people stop spawning or some one else does. It's not that I like to farm kills so much as I got sick of getting shot in the back by people spawning in. |

proto suits get double tapped. I'll go 8th of my way to make sure they are put down permanently.
New players i'll definitely hold fire until fired upon. Especially in a tank.

I find it hilariously inconceivable that everyone is running up on other players and going, "Hmmm, I wonder what level of response I owe this particular player due to their perceived newness."
I find it far more believable that most everyone pulls the RR and a Core Grenade and hopes they kill everyone on the other team all at once with said combo.

I kill them with by unsheathing my Nova Knives, flicking off the blood and sheathing it again. One fluid motion. I show no mercy through my tactics.
I only show mercy by playing solo. Because in doing so I am not part of a squad and am able to support those who need it most.
