If your hacking the point and you cloaking its kinda meaningless since you HAVE TO BE IN CERTAIN AREAS TO HACK THE OBJECTIVE. Frankly its a bit insulting considering that while cloaked you can't fight back as I plasma cannon you to a crispy paint job on the objective interface. We know your there we will teabag you and thank you for improving our kdrs

Nope find them pretty easily. Clearly you haven't seen how many I've taken down. If anyone cloakhacks successfully that means he had to kill me being the only one there I even come across cloakies not hacking all the time. Just running around in there harry potter fits. I also came across the ole quick decloak shotgun in the back glitch again

you dont find them as easily as uncloaked scouts.

PLC scout is a good setup for defending out of the way locations where enemies tent to trickle in. Make sure you have a Plan B for when a heavy squad shows up to force you out though.
(R.E`s work well at first)
I too do think that the fact that you have to be in a very limited space, with your back turned and without your weapon in hand while capturing objectives is a bit gimmicky.
I would much prefer a small area you just have to stand in, or maybe a very quick fast hack sequence then a waiting period in that small area around objective.
The problem then would be what about users that have put good skills into hacking... but these skills can still be transferred to the time period reduction just like they reduce hacking time right now.

Even if I am not cloaked I wouldn't be able to fight back against a Plasma Cannon because I would be hacking the objective. I cloak because it allows me to run up to the objective, hack it, and run away without me ever being seen by the enemy. |

Cloaks are not meant to be invincibility engines, just another tool in the scouts bag of tricks.
They allow a scout to approach an objective without being visually detected (in most cases).
A scenario like yours is actually pretty contrived and requires a person constantly watching an objective and never doing anything else.

No cloakie by themselves has ever escaped me. I don't always direct hit with a plasma cannon but even if the scout doesn't cloak he still has enough time to at least shotgun me once

First of all, this is only applicable to objectives because installations have a 360 degree radius in which you can hack.
Second, I have finished off hacks because it took the shooter a moment to figure out where I was. Sometimes that is all that is needed.
Saying it either is perfect or doesn't work at all is a little too binary, and the circcumstances are more complex than your post suggests.

Cloaking is not that helpful at hiding you while hacking an objective I'll admit. It is however great at getting you to the objective and letting you start hacking with out letting people know. Instead of knowing where you are almost instantly via your red dot they have to wait till they notice the objective blinking or are notified it has already been hacked. Even from there it takes some one a tiny bit of extra time to search the area, or spray it all down to hit a cloaked person if they don't have AoE weapons. Giving that scout an extra bit of time to get the hack .
Cloaks also are great at getting away the second the hap is done. Run fast and jump around a corner cloaked and your pretty much safe. Stopping to activate your cloak or deactivate it before/after you hack would waste even more time than just staying cloaked. Like some one said your basically helpless while hacking any ways so cloaked or not most scouts can't take a hit or turn around fast enough to defend themselves if spotted.
I will say I don't feel on the whole cloaks are worth the effort. If you really want to harass outer points run with uplinks and remotes. Uplinks to keep nearby places to spawn around the map to hack those objectives and remotes to at least slow down their ability to hack them back. Even if it's just them wasting time to flux on every objective before they hack it. |

If you combine a goofy angle, or a decoy, with the radius of shield protection provided by the null cannon you can pull off hacks routinely. I was in a match a few days ago where the reds came in and started spraying the console like crazy but I was stood a few feet back and they didn't hit me at all. It's all about innovation.
