Its been taking 2-3 minutes to find pubs last couple days. Did they tinker with the match making?

either 1 of 2 things;
1. Your mu is so low they are trying to find players to suit you...you know, the blueberries that try and stab people with a needle, or the ones that try to kill infantry with a swarm launcher...
2. Your mu is so high that you must be pitched against Carne Con Papa's or such every time.

Yeah it's been bad today for me at least. 3-5 min pub matches, any pub match and 1 or 2 Scotties to get into any factional. The end results are usually 10-12 man teams with one side having full proto and the other useless noobs. It happens on both my main account with millions of SP and a new account I start to play around with some weapons and such that has zero SP spent on anything.
It just seems like no one is playing right now tbh. |

Almost every match i am pitted against Kaizuka, almost, every, match. I now have a bitter rivalry with him. I sniped his ass, literally.

I have found everything outside of domination to be horribly slow and even domination has gotten slower lately. I believe what we are seeing is the flow of people who are now running almost exclusively FW thanks to 4 man squads being no fun at all.
I think its time for CCP to do some advertising. OK I laughed at that as well.
Remove NPC orbitals from FW. -- Fix orbital timers for Eve players assisting in Planetary Conquest.

Might be necessary to finally remove Skirmish from pubs.
PROS
-Would consolidate more players into the other Pub matches, reducing wait times.
-Would help matchmaking (larger pools of players)
-Probably would fill more matches
-FW would get a boost from public players who really like Skirmish
CONS
-Can no longer play Skirmish in pubs
Worth it if you ask me

knifed him like 10 times, its hilarious...every time he gets knifed he sits in a tank afterwards

Dom is pretty unhealthy at the moment. Would personally prefer to see it absorbed into the Acq queue rather than see Skirm relegated to FW and PC.

I agree that Acquisition is superior to Dom. I never play Dom anymore, it's the premier stomp ground. Nearly every game I play is an immediate redline. It's hard to force teams off the point, so whoever gets there first has a huge advantage.
Acquisition forces teams to be competitive all match, rather than post up with links and heavies and win the game in the first 30 seconds.
However, for some reason it is by far the most popular game mode. You can't just up and delete the most popular game mode out from peoples noses. Which is why I would propose giving more incentive to playing Acq, perhaps increase ISK and SP payouts for this mode. Once people have been weened off Dom, then merging with Acq could be considered.

People moved to FW because FW is the place where you get paid with insane amounts of lp (boosters).
I myself have to please myself with PC and bad pubs because of the performance/lags issues in FW.

After seeing things play out I have to agree with Ratatti's original proposal to eliminate skirmish from public contracts.

Frankly I always hated skirm matches, more so once it became the default game mode type for all other game play modes. I mean you have to do skirm for FW and PC why do it again in pubs? It always need fixed some how in that you got the same pay out for Skirm matches as you did ambush or dom despite it takes far more effort and usually a longer match.
in the past Skirm remained public because it was seen as training for PC matches but now we have FW and with the lame 4 man squad cap it's not very good at teaching team play either. |
