CCP,
Before I start, let me say that CCP, you are admired for EVE Online. We look for something beautiful and inspiring and EVE Online's breathtaking spaceships and nebulae provide that squarely. Because of EVE Online, I look forward to DUST514. Essentially I expect DUST514 would be artistic like EVE Online.
Two broad areas to consider:
- Beauty -- design, textures, effects, dynamics, etc. This is an everlasting effort;
- Mechanics of the game. This should be as intuitive as possible.
The followings are my impression and feedback after playing DUST514 for two days:
Beauty
- Lighting: It is always cloudy. The atmosphere can be enthralling if sometimes objects cast clear and long shadows, and sometimes dark and stormy.
- Dynamism: Impact effects at both firing and receiving ends can be improved to heighten a sense of realism.
- Background texture: Sky and grass texture can be improved.
Game Mechanics
- PSN regions: All PSN regions should be included. I need to transfer my DUST514 account to a different PSN account when my region is included.
- Load time at NEOCOM: Market, Skill, and Fitting tabs take a few seconds to load everytime. Sometimes I mistakenly click on a tab but I cannot abort the loading. Could the loading be done incrementally and in the background? Could it be aborted with the x button?
- Communication: It is difficult to see the name of the persons around us. How do I communicate with a mate around us easily and identify who is speaking? How do I quickly add a friend? I don't have a USB keyboard. I have a headset but few others use voice communication.
- Name convention: Player names should start with a capital letter.

I'd like to just see the futuristic beauty that EVE is known for, within DUST. |

Keep in mind the visuals used in the beta are dumbed down in order to keep the file size down. When we hit the release version there will be a lot of upgrades to the graphics. I think they were showing some footage of their current (non-beta) build at E3, you can probably see it on the PSHome E3 booth or maybe even YouTube. |

The footage form the E3 clearely show that our current graphic is inferior. I wonder though if we will be able to reach this level.
