Having spoken with CCP Leelo the CPM would like all potential candidates to be aware that they may run despite not immediately having a passport in time for their application.
Quote:However, in a scenario where XXX wins the election and has not yet submitted their passport copy, they will not be able to begin their CPM duties until they provide said copy and sign an NDA.
So for those who were worried they would not be able to run because they did not believe they would have their passports in time do not be dismayed.
I implore any potential candidates to file for a passport ASAP however so that should you win there will be as little delay as possible in assuming your responsibilities.

I'm glad I was right with assuming this'd be the case. Now I don't need to pay extra to have my passport arrive sooner.

Can anyone provide a reference or directions to getting a passport. I never been through this process before and nothing I've searched up in the Internet has given me anything good

Well a good place to go is where you get all legal documents from in your city or town. They should have an office somewhere for you.

If you are in the USA a local post office is often able to provide what you need, there is also a website with more details should you require those, first result in a google search for me. 
Outside the US I'm not versed in the processes required.

It pretty much is a job and it pays absolutely nothing. People who run for CPM basically fall into 2 groups.
1. Those who care so much for the game that they're willing to literally work a second job with no pay in order to make it better.
2. Those who just want the title.
