Apologies to heavies.
This is just a brainstorm.
What would everyone think of modifying your spawn timer slightly depending on what size suit you are wearing?
Light frames: -5% spawn time Med frames: No change Heavy frames: +% spawn time.
Logically it would make sense, as moving more mass through a portal would be more difficult.
Thoughts?

Thoughts? It seems OK but kinda pointless and If I was a heavy i would hate to see a spawn time over 15 seconds |

This would also speed up the action a bit, a typical new player complaint.

Technically speaking, the uplink is making a wormhole, so any mass is being transported faster than light. The timer is how long it takes to get a lock on that link to send you to it (I think)
What we do know about wormholes (Eve side) is they have a mass limit. Once a certain amount of mass goes through, they collapse. So what if we added something like that to links? You can spawn more light suits than you can heavy suits on a given link since heavies have more mass.
Over thinking, over analyzing separates the body from the mind.

My philosophy is that you should always make the lore work around better gameplay.
Reducing spawn times for some suits would speed up gameplay (and open the door for more strategic options), which in my mind would help make Dust more fun.

I'm concerned that this innately implies that Heavy Frames are better suits and thus need a longer spawn time that Light Frames with a shorter spawn time.
I guess my question is, what purpose does this change serve?

This would simply reduce the average spawn in time for some players, speeding up the action.
Yes this is doing a favor for Light frames, but I don't feel it's game.breaking, nor a buff that would even be noticed

respectfully,
Wouldn't it make more sense to get the slower heavy suits back on the field faster, as the scouts can make it up with their native speed?
If you make it easier to pour shotgun scouts into the battlefield... you could create an unintended consequence of spam. You could also see more clone-bleed in games where one team is redlined, by putting more low-ehp suits on the battlefield.
Part of the lore in Eve involves the realities of distance. What if instead of modifying based on suits, there were 'strategic points' that allowed faster reinforcement. You hack a terminal, drop an uplink inside it's area of effect, and that uplink gets the bonus... allowing faster spawns?
just some thoughts.

I understand, but why do you want to add this change? I dont understand what the intended purpose is.

He wants to try and make the game more fast paced I believe. The intended purpose is to give some suits strategic advantage, meh Talos will explain it better lol
I would actually like this idea, reminded me of when Vrain Matari and I were thinking of Assault bonus ideas, and one of his was the ability for Assaults to spawn in faster so they may engage a point more frequently.
i like Mahal's idea slightly more however because all this will do is have floodgates of scouts also assaulting and dropping links till they encroach. A Sentinel cannot do such, and so them coming last to defend an uplink they cannot replenish might be an unintended sideeffect.
Make the uplink radius the same as the Defender Radius points or both hostiles and friendlies. Hostiles can keep up a fast push so that Advance and Basic links are actually useful in game, Proto links slightly faster as well.

Not intended as anything too revolutionary.
I got the idea as I was spawning in during a pub match.
Every link near the objective was a 15 second timer, and I thought to myself "Is there anything I can do as the spawner to spawn in any quicker?". The answer was no.
I then thought "Should there be anything a player can do to decrease their spawn time?", and thought about the Lighter frames spawning in quicker idea.
After assessing the pro's and cons I came up with:
PROS:
- Speeds up the action (one of Dust's weaknesses) - Adds depth/strategic options (Do I spawn as a scout to get in that slight bit faster?) - Provides a slight buff to Scouts - Improves gameplay of scouts, helps them as 'infiltrators'. - More fitting if Scouts get in first anyways, so they can 'scout' the area before assaults. - The lore works (Or atleast we can easily BS around it)
CONS:
[...] [...] - Heavies might feel left out?

I mean I don't meed to **** on the idea, I just kinda feel like it s a "We do it because we can" sort of thing.
I mean as a previous poster pointed out, should the Scout's innate high movement speed effectively get them to the action faster anyways? Most of your reasons include getting scouts to the battle faster, but they do that already. So I feel like this change is really unnecessary.
