As long as there are wars to be fought, soldiers and armies will always rally behind the beating Drums of War
Faceless mercenary clones we may be, we are no different, which is why I propose adding the Battle Anthem Transmitter to our neocom.
How would it work?
-Load Battle Anthems onto your PS3 -In your Neocom under CHARACTER select > B.A.T. > Create Playlist. -Name a playlist and add songs to it from your PS3.
There you have it. From there you you will have the ability to listen to your music through your TV or headset while playing Dust. This has been possible since the PS2 era, but few games have taken advantage of it. GTA comes to mind (On the original XBOX/PS2 no less).
In settings you will have control over all the necessities, such as:
-Disable entirely -Fade music when somebody speaks ( 00% - 100%) so that you can hear them. -Etc.
To use in battle
-Press right D-Pad -Select B.A.T. -Select individual playlist or Shuffle All -Become inspired and fight like a fanatical Zealot.
Transmitter
Here's the best part.
As a squad member, you will have the option to plug into your Squad Leaders B.A.T. Your squad leader will now be the maestro and choose the symphony of destruction for the entire squad.
Now corporations can rock their most inspiring battle tunes into PC, without annoying loud speakers drowning out everyones voices from the background.
My futuristic dropsuit would definitely include this.

Color me green, what games let you transmit songs via a ps3 streaming protocol (not via the sound over your mic)?
Wouldn't this create some kind of network lag for people.

Why would it cause any more lag than transmitting your voice already does?

You can already play music from your PS3's saved music while you're playing DUST.

It's how transmitting works. You won't just have a channel for voice, but another for your music.
I've DJ'd on internet radio before, using WinAmp and VLC.
You can also potentially create latency problems in systems like Teamspeak and Mumble. So Dust on the PS3 would probably struggle with this.
I still like the idea though, and I'm not against CCP trying to implement it. lol |

cool idea, although it's never going to happen, it would drop FPS from 15 that we now have to 3.. Apart from that, is really noone listening to the footsteps these days? ;) |

Interesting idea, tough I'm sure there would be legal issues. That said I wouldn't mind something like the medleys from Ground Zeroes.

What kind of legal issues.might you envision?
I see this as mostly a cool talking a point. Something people would see and say "That's pretty cool" and tell their friends about.

Considering the issues we have already had in the past with active speaker switching as part of the third party voice server protocols I do not see this going over well.

I'm thinking copyright issues, though that would only affect players who record games for posting to youtube.

Even if that were the case, that would simply.mean someone's youtube video might get pulled (if someone bothered to report it).
Nothing to do with dust itself at all.
