Regardless of CCP's perceived track record of building games with steep learning curves and semi-functional tutorials, I would immensely appreciate the addition of a VR training module which allows access for nearly all skill books, leveling mechanics, class armor/weapon types, and vehicle builds in the Dust 514 universe to be craft-able in quick n' dirty test environment separate from online interaction. These VR test environments may be AI driven or function as sparing grounds for corporation members to sharpen each others skills for serious engagements. I see the inclusion of allowing people to build test characters with all available Dust resources as a means of allowing people to experiment through various play styles with the end goal of setting tangible benchmarks for the development path a player wants to take their online mercenary.

From a game design perspective this may allows introductory players to become attuned to the game's mechanics without the penalty or fear for loss of investment of both time and in game currency. While the added pressure or failure of investing in an expensive dropsuit or vehicle (e.g. crashing a dropship due to a lack of grasp on the physics of the vehicle's movement) may quickly lead you to not make the same mistake twice; nonetheless, the cost of such failure in the future may lead early players and adopters of the EVE Dust 514 general release to shy away from making messily innovative practice with the many tools at their disposal.
