Brainstorming here, what would you guys think about a module that increases your damage based on weapon profile rather than Size (Heavy, light, sidearm)?
So, instead of a module that only increases your Light Sidearm you get a module that increases all of your weapons on your person as long as they are the same weapon profile.
Example:
Minmatar Assault user equips his clone with a boundless combat rifle and a Breach SMG. He also equips a Ballistics Damage Module which gives a bonus to both the Breach SMG and his Rifle.
However if he equipped a Flaylock Pistol it would not benefit from the Ballistics damage module but instead would need a Explosive Compound upgrade module to make it better.
This would encourage using racially prefered weapons while at the same time and getting more use out of one module than we do now.
It also doesn't change anything (unless you're using a Krin's) because you would have to equip a module that for both sidearms and light weapons anyway.
Thoughts? Concerns? Jabs about my love for sushi?

How about an old idea I had from ages past?
A piece of equipment that acts as an ammo stash.
This ammo has different DAMAGE PROFILES. Like in EVE.
You could take a combat rifle and give it EMP ammo, or depleted uranium. A limited amount of course, and must be manually loaded. Can be resupplied at depots, not Nanohives. They also affect the stats of the weapon, much like in EVE. Higher damage rounds at the cost of serious range reduction.
Imagine walking around as a Min Assault with a Combat Rifle. Burst Variant. You know you are headed into CQC, and you have an SMG with you. You switch ammo to EMP rounds, a short range ammo variant that has a "Laser" profile. You only keep this on your CR. Going into CQC, you can easily strip shields off targets and clean up with the SMG.
Heading back outside, you unequip the ammo, as the range is severely reduced for EMP and the recoil goes out the window as well. Possibly you switch to a depot and change out ammo packs. This time to Nuclear Ammo. Greatly increased range and has the same profile, but greater hipfire spread.
Possibly run Phased Plasma rounds for versatile damage profile and CQC prowess? Depleted Uranium for the same range but a 105/95 profile instead of 85/115?
Assault would get the fitting reduction. This emphasizes the "Versatility" of assaults. And it's a huge nod to EVE.

Would have to give less of a bonus than current damage modes, because it effects both your main and secondary weapon.
Ideally at Proto it would give +4 to Heavy Weapons, +5 to Light Weapons, and +6 to Sidearms, but with a higher fitting cost than the Krin.
The Damage Profile restriction is not much of a restriction as it is common to use similar profile weapons. For example the HMG/SMG combo is very common.
Hand/Eye coordination cannot be taught. For everything else there is the Learning Coalition.
