Sometimes in battle we are outnumbered, some of us grin and grab a bigger gun, some leave battle to preserve their precious KDR.
My suggestion is two fold, make it a better choice to stay and penalise those that quit out. In battles were the opposition outmatches the other side by 4 players why not have 4% buff to the damage done. a flat rate of 1% damage increase per player difference to help narrow the advantage. On the subject of players fleeing impose a 45 second timer, if the player quits in that timer without spawning fine them an isk amount or even SP.
Of course a good matchmaking system and maybe a player balance system (moving unsquaded players to the lower sized team) might be the better idea but until then, make it interesting to stay and annoying to leave. |

No.... If a player leave's it's cause enemy player's tend to Q-SYNC into pub matches, player base is too small for this, you also realize that 70% of the guys you play with are probably straight from the academy, I.E. they don't know jack ****. You want better gameplay? Talk to the DEV's about suit/weapon balancing and the player's that abuse the hell out of proto/officer gear. Until then, enjoy the game.

Do you truly expect balance in tiered system?
I mean come on, without making the lower tiers more powerful there is no way, and at that point what is the reason to skill into the higher tiers?
It just becomes a money sink to do so.
Unfortunately it make the NPE crap but it makes for a rewarding game later on.
if you are talking about balancing the weapons against one another, the main issue is that they listen to people to much.
You can have respect for your players, and keep them happy without listening to every Q.Qer on the forums.
crunch the numbers look at the stats, test it out, and then adjust according to the end product.
Cleaning up the mess everyone leaves behind :)
