Doesn't this have some of the creators of Battlefield working on it?
From what i see atm there is no tactics...people are playing this like it's some cruddy Halo game.
Just running around frantically while hopping constantly.
This is suppose to be one of the most deepest FPS's out there and right now it just seems like a run and gun..
Anyone who's probably upset by nerf jump request probably like the whole Arcade shooter but correct me if i'm wrong..this is not suppose to be one of those.
There is no realism in a bunch of soldiers jumping around and circling out in the open.
Where's the tactical realism?
I hope by the time this beta is done we will have that Battlefield style of realism and tactical advantage.
Not Chicken With Its Head Cut Off 514.
I know some people are all for the arcade shooter style but the makers of EVE has made a revolutionary space game that continues to grow and has much realism.
I would just like to see that employed in this game ^ Not another arcade shooter which they promise it won't be but so far i don't know.
I hope it turns out great. |

+1
Iam a firm beiliever that to nerf Jumping and to reduce strafing using many little ideas that have came up on lots of simular treads will termendesly improve the tactical quality of the game. |

The reason there is no tactical game play is because there is no grouping system. Thats simple enough to understand. |

in games like battlefield and cod your first jump is massive, and then cosecutive jumps are much smaller. maybe tey should do this? it's not like the drop suits other than scout have assisted movement. |

Well in fairness the heavy must have assisted movement after all to move at all with a gatteling gun with ammo must weigh in the range of half a ton so it stands to reason is a heay picks up a assult rifle a load would be tken off of the hydro systems that it would move faster than a scout its just the overpower there would be epic |

Well, I 1for one would have prefered Dust514 to play like Swat / A.A. , in the sense where before a match each member would assume a role and stick with it depending on the commander wishes for composition much like EVE fleet doctrines (1 logi, 2 heavies, etc etc). Then each team would be "placed" on the map and go after the objectives. If a player would die, he would stay down out of the match until next game (the clone would be ready for the next match). Game would end if all players were down or objectives taken. A battle would consist of any number of odd matches, who win the most matches win it all.
This would be a real tatical game imo, that would allow for a 'mimic' of how fleets work in EVE, with organization, set composition, high risks for a bad movement and careful planning of actions and, being a shooter, adrenalime moments when you turn a corner - swat is really a fast game and is fun given its desingn, so is AA.
But its not the case, and clearly CCP took it the way of the mainstream, respawn-frantic run-and-gun crowd with eyes on the BF/COD/whatever crowd.
That being said, its a fun game, need some tweaks and a lot of fixes. Hope the next build plays better regarding hit detection. |

Yet in battlefield when you play with random people for the most part people bunch together and give out ammo, slowly taking objectives. Therefor yes i expect some serious gameplay and teamwork. |

At least if it was more toward battlefield people wouldn't have mega hyper movement and jumping.
Either way i know what you're saying.. I hope they aren't trying to just gain a mass of people by making some crazy run and gun. This has all the stuff to make it tactical and realistic in the aspect of movement etc but so far as you said it just seems like some COD crap and hopefully it's fixed. |
