Bubble shield: Lay it down like a nanohive. Damage coming from the outside in is reduced by x percentage. Damage coming from the inside out is increased by x percentage.
Also officer equipment....
When?
Even an officer logi suit would be nice. Does that even exist?
bandwidth lol
And totally not p2w haha

There is a piece of equipment per faction in the loyalty store that acts special. I was satisfied with that.
Bubble shield, I don't know. I wouldn't use it. Can players still destroy them with bullets?
If this game was fun, I wouldn't be playing it.

Of course.
currently the caldari and minmatar have 2 kinds of equipment to call their own while the amarr and gallente have one each.
Whichever faction the bubble shield goes to doesn't really matter. However. Perhaps it would make more sense lore wise to give it to the gallente. The gallente suits are weaker in shield strength therefore their leaders and scientists developed a technology to help counter their weakness.

Even an officer logi suit would be nice. Does that even exist? They were actually working on a bubble shield at the same time they were working on the Cloak, but the Cloak made it into the game while the bubble shield was still in R&D when new content was shut down.
I never heard anything about increasing outgoing damage though. Do you have a rational for that suggestion, and a RP explanation of how that would work?
Hand/Eye coordination cannot be taught. For everything else there is the Learning Coalition.

I never heard anything about increasing outgoing damage though. Do you have a rational for that suggestion, and a RP explanation of how that would work? The bubble shield does not move. Therefore to experience its effects one must stand withing its area of effect. It is also easy to destroy. Placement must be made in such a way that the module is kept safe without hindering its effectiveness offensively.
Laying it out in the open would make it vulnerable.
Placing it in a corner would make it less effective.
The reason it would increase its outgoing damage would be to assert a greater control over the area it is intended to effect.
Should bubble shield only lessen damage caused to the player the equipment (and its users, but more importantly the equipment) are more of a punching bag than something that holds control over a certain area of the map.
The equipment is meant to protect the player so it dampens damage taken to the player.
The player is meant to protect the equipment and in order to do so is granted an increase in damage to increase the risk an enemy takes to lob a grenade towards it.

if it reduces damage then we end up duplicating the tank hardener issue on dropsuits.
heavies being repped for example. if damage is reduced, then its possible to repair damage faster than youre receiving it. you wouldnt die.
let the shield block all damage. incoming and outgoing for an amount of time. then maybe we could defend ourselves from OBs lol |

If the shields increased outgoing damage and decreased incoming damage, I can only imagine they'll be a sniper's wet dream. Set one or two up around yourself, one-shot completely tanked heavies without even trying. Take less damage from counter-snipers and have time to get to safety and heal. Get to a supply depot, swap to a fully stocked suit, repeat the process. |
