Only 4 people to a public squad?? Now I am forced to play FW to play with my friends. That or be short handed in Pubs. With 6 it was you 3 hold this point while us 3 go help the Blueberries push that second point. Now it`s either we stay here and lose because our Blueberries aren't squaded up or we push and still lose because the blue berries aren't squaded up. Hey CCP why don't you just make public matches squad free!!??? I don't know people I just think a squad of 4 is too small to really do anything with the inability to communicate with other squads. Sure you have team chat but who uses that while squaded?

LMAO I WISH I went close to 50/2 with a mass driver just once!!!! No I'm the guy that's complaining about being forced to play a game mode that I don't want to play. Min FW is the only FW I have use for too bad my other 5 friends don't feel the same way. Anyways it's more about No communication with the other squads. Allow me to explain a bit more. Before it didn't matter too much if the Blue berries spawned with us or worked another objective bc we had 6 to split and to switch roles. With 4 you have what???? A heavy, logi, scout, and either infrantry support or vehicle support. There is just not enough people grouped up to fight properly. Teamwork is a must in this game to be successful. Yet it is being taken away. 4 to a squad in bush OK who cares, 4 to Dom eehhhh a little small but it'll work, but on a skrim LOL get real!

By reducing the amount of people that can squad up in public matches CCP tried to make the game easier for solo players. It is working out well.

It is a negative that now we cannot play with as many friends as before, but it is a decent sacrifice to make in order to allow new players and solo players more of a chance.
This was the simplest way that CCP could reduce the presence of proto stomping squads in public matches.

I can understand it better from this point. Still wish they would have implemented something a bit better than nerfing teamwork of all things in a team based game.

then turn on team chat and mute the crazies or play FW,
You are not much of a team player if you make the game dull for the other 10 people on your team
You made pubs lopsided and boring and you needed to be stopped so you were. |

LMAO yes because walking around in MLT and APEX suits really made the game lopsided. It won't help if I'm in team chat when the other squads are in squad chat. Please do explain how holding a squad holding a point and working a second is dull for the other 10 people on a 5 objective map?? Another 6 holding a point/ working a second. That's 4 objectives total 2 red 2 blue with a free objective and 4 people still left?? Now it's going to be hold a point or push a point and hope the blue do the opposite. FYI the only dull games I've had in the past 6 months is when the enemy or my team leave after ohhh about 5 mins of fighting

More specifically when you combine six experienced players with proto, officer and experimental equipment against players that can barely afford to run advanced gear more than three matches in a row you get very unbalanced matches.
By cutting the potential power of these squads by a third CCP reduced their monopoly on the end result of the match.
If CCP could simply make sure that every team ended up with with a full proto squad then they would have. Though, this isn't possible because of connection issues and the small community.

Why not just meta level pubs? meta lvl 1-20 go here and then an open pub or whatever. That way new players can have a competitive fight and everyone else can waste each other suits. A little checkbox, "Would you like to included proto level players in your search?" Whatever just something different than 4 man squads argh! A proto player is still going to wreck players only now instead of 5 others on your team and 2 or 3 of them are helping you jump him you have a squad of 4 and need everyone to be on the same page jumping a proto.

4 man squads have turned the matches closer than ever before. 6 man squads guaranteed one side or another would win flat out. Your words are illogical, while trying to sound "beneficial" to the game. Doesn't work. Not to mention that queue times dropped from 15-20 minutes down to 2-3 for many solo people I've talked to.
Waiting 5 minutes for a match was pampering you. I had to wait at least 12 minutes between matches... sometimes 40 minutes.... just to get in before this.

I noticed something you said
BrownEye1129 wrote:Teamwork is a must in this game to be successful. And I agree that teamwork is needed to be successful in this game, the question though is what success is, as from how I see it, success in Dust only comes in two modes, FW and PC.
Public matches are imo not a part of the end-game success, as it's just random matches leading up to nothing beyond your personal entry on the leaderboard (at the very most).
So I can't say that I agree with 6 men squads stomping left and right is heading in the direction of "successful"-ness in Dust.
I personally do not play FW nor PC, nor do I squad up because for me, I just enjoy doing matches without it having to mean something, and I can tell from experience that playing solo against a two fully coordinated squads and 4 randoms getting stomped into the red-line - is not fun, it just becomes way too serious for my style.
So this change for me as a solo player is a step to making it more fun and relaxed. But I can understand that you feel the opposite, that a relaxing match for you is when there's teamwork involved, but I fail to see the end-game success in only running squads in public matches that only reward you with some ISK and SP (ISK and SP you get playing solo as well).

There needs to be room for different levels of competition. If every match was pc level difficult because of your flimsy justification that it's a 'team game', you'd have quit this game quickly.
Pubs are and should be 'low competition', this change achieves it.
Factionals should be 'medium competition' (maybe with an end goal of being 'high', but that's unlikely), they currently aren't really and will likely need some extensive reworking to achieve this.
Planetary conquest is 'highly competitive' and is afaik currently achieving this.

You should drop by state task force some day, most matches are kind of a snoozefest and you'd probably enjoy the relaxed pace that things happen at.

My sentiments exactly. I hate losing 2 squadmates in pubs, I do. We should realize that this will lead to an overall more tolerable NPE which leads to more players, a healthier player population, and Dust making enough money to stay alive.
