DUST 514 Future and my Ideas Dear DEVs, I have been playing in the EVE universe since 2008 as GÇ£The HeadmasterGÇ¥ and now mostly play in DUST as GÇ£Mr HeadmasterGÇ¥. I have been increasingly concerned with where DUST seems to be headed. The amount of players on seems to be decreasing and there does not seem to be many new players. Lastly, although your loyal players like myself still love this game we all have many complaints, and I myself have seen some mistakes that many MMOGÇÖs have made that have made many players leave. The biggest of these is that you have very skilled max equipped players fighting against new players that are barely learning how to set up their skill trees, and just obliterating them (Proto Stomping), or at least you used to. You havenGÇÖt had any real events like eve which require more participation of the players in team environments. And you promised content before the release of the game, but you have not delivered. Now I know you set up a new matchmaking engine that works but still has bugs, but I purpose with this new matchmaking engine you set up another option for players more in line with the story and style of EVE. In EVE when youGÇÖre a new player you donGÇÖt just jump into PVP the moment you make your character. Instead you start off with doing PVE missions for the corporation of your choosing fighting AIs. This not only helps increase your knowledge of the game it increases your wallet and your overall skill. To further follow the EVE universe make missions for players in DUST that are against the normal GÇ£Bad guysGÇ¥ (A.K.A. Sansha, Guristas, Serpentis, Angel Cartel, Blood Raiders, and Drones). In the EVE universe these have always been poorly equipped non capsuleer units, and the back story could still be the same the clone mercenaries with their awesome equipment and inability to die crushes these non-immortal units and get paid for it. I could even see mission levels like in EVE with each level getting harder and riskier but with even higher rewards. This is just one idea. One other idea to bring in more players is release it for the PS4, but before you might want to do something first. Finish all of the faction vehicles, bring in Amarr and Minmatar tanks with a pulsed laser Gatling gun, a beam laser cannon, a Minmatar gun like a M45 Quadmount, and a large version of a grenade launcher. There is a lack of singular personal air transport I suggest instead of light aircraft being fighters, you make something like a little jump jet with stats similar to a LAV with the basic unit being a 2 seater with the second seat controlling a swiveled gun, and the advanced more like a fighter faster with only one seat and one or 2 forward facing guns, and you could easily work this into the eve universe even with the fighter game coming out, the dust light aircraft are designed to handle gravity and atmosphere while the other fighters are designed just for space. And for your Heavy aircraft design a monster dropship that is slow with less armor then a tank, but can fit 2 large cannons and four small cannons on each size essentially becoming the C-130 of Dust, and to even it out and make it more fair make it very hard to fully fit it out if not impossible and make it expensive. By the way the pilot can only fly the ship and activate the modules not fire the guns, this will require a team to man. Just an idea. Last but not least vehicle is the Heavy ground vehicles. These should be something like a mobile troop transport heavily armored with four or six small turrets, again like the Heavy air ship where the driver can only steer and activate modules and needs gunners to make it effective. Last but not least for the PS4 release double the amount of players in a match and limit the amount of each vehicles that are deployed. This all would actually make Skirmishes popular again in my opinion. Now say you do release the game for PS4 I have some ideas about that as well. Keep a PS3 option for plyers that canGÇÖt afford a PS4, just make it so they can only participate in 16 vs 16 battles not 32 vs 32, and they donGÇÖt get the heavy vehicles. Also if youGÇÖre going to release a copy for PS4 not only provide it on the PS game shop online, but put it on a disk and send it out to GameStops. On the disk you could put exclusive gear that only disk buyers can have, and by using a disk you could have things like maps and other things on the disk while the rest of the game is loaded from the HD thus giving those with disks faster load times. Maybe even do like HALO or Arkham knight with a PS4 system plus game bundle. And bring back the whole thing, on public matches, were the player could walk around and see each other before the match while waiting for deployment, that was awesome and gave me the ability to check out the other team before the match started. Thank you for reading this letter of my ideas and concerns for DUST 514, Headmaster
