So I have a new alt account I've been messing with to try out drop ships mostly, without dying too many times on my main or wasting SP on the wrong thing. I've gotten a bit lucky with keys and gotten several officer weapons and such on that character. Sadly I've found out you can't trade items on a character until they hit rank 2.
Now I looked and noticed that he needed about 1k total points to hit rank 1 from zero but the progression is a bit weird. I thought you earned points for joining a battle, winning a battle and every 500 or so WP you earn. I just paid attention however and I won a battle with just over 1k WP. I still only got 2 points for rank....
Is it really that bad you get just 1 for completing a battle and 1 for winning? Plus what seems like 1 for logging in for the day. It would take winning 500 battles just to hit rank 1, and double that for at least for rank 2. Forcing new players to wait almost 2 months or more to get involved in player trading seems a bit harsh. After all a lucky new player might get an officer weapon out of salvage or a lock box. They won't have much use in using the thing, not only would they die to easily but they probably lack the skills to equip it.
If they could trade it for ISK though it would be a huge boon to their development. I understand the limitation was probably put in place to discourage scammers making new accounts all the time, but I don't think it really helps. If you buy something like $20 in aurum the entire PSN account has the ability to trade, and you can just keep making new characters. It also doesn't stop you from giving or receiving isk to other players.
Since most scammers just try and sell items without actually giving people anything they can still run their scams and send their ill gotten gains to their main. So I don't think the limitation on trading of rank 2 is even helping with anything in that reguard. |

Just an update btw. I intentionally ran a low WP match and just got out of a lost battle with only earning 200 wp. I earned NO loyalty rank points for that battle. I thought you got 1 for joining, 1 for winning at least? Something wrong with playing a 15 min + battle and not even getting one of the hundreds of thousands of rank points that you might need. |

I would also like to know how the points mechanism works. I want to get to rank 2 to start trading so if anyone could explain it, it would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

If memory serves I think you get two loyalty rank points per aurum spent. So, if you spend your daily Aurum bonus, you'll be getting 140 Loyalty Rank Points per day and should hit Rank 2 relatively quickly even without actively playing.
10% of US schools no longer teach Cursive. A decade from now, 10% of the US isn't going to understand all the squiglies.

Unfortunately they changed how aurum works, at least far as I know. You no longer get rank points for spending aurum, it's when you buy it that you get the points. Since your daily rewards isn't something you buy I don't think it affects your rank at all. That's what has been said in previous post, though if they changed their minds or failed to make the change yet I'm not sure.
Edit: Btw just won a match, 2480 WP and got 5 rank points. Perhaps it's time based? It was a long match, we ended up cloning the other team with 2 bars left on the MCC. I can't see how it can be WP based if 2480 is 5 points while little over 1000 is only 2 points, both matches I won. |

It's already changed. I had 2500 aurum leftover on an old alt and spent it 3 days ago, got 8 loyalty points for it somehow. |
