There is a couple of helpful tips.

1.) In the immortal words of Isai, "Don't get hit." You want to play at range, meaning, find out the optimal range for the gun you use the most and or like the most. Since the recent changes, Range is the new meta, meaning, whoever has the most range wins.
This also applies to the second point.

2.) Don't be afraid to hide. Seriously. Cover and Range are key.

3.) Skill your core abilities first. In the dropsuit upgrade section of your skills, it is definitely helpful to skill those up first. Armor And Shield Upgrades, (i forgot what the PG and CPU upgrades are called, they are the most expensive to upgrade though) You core abilities should take priority over weapons and dropsuits. It'll help you survive if you break cover, and it'll help you fit your suits better.

3.) Go to the Rookie Training Grounds in the forums. Look up the Gun Game 101 thread. It helps tons.

I decided to be helpful for a change.....WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME!?!?!? *commits senpaku*

Learn how to use your blue berries as distractions for flanking and/or escaping. if a blue dot disappears off the map check the kill feed ( top right) for which weapon it was that killed him so you have a better understanding of what you are about to face.if you are new you won't know the strengths and weakness of weapons until you have tried them or died to them so prepare for death and remember how you died. if anything search up my buddy saxonmish on youtube to see some inspiring gameplay that might give you a chance if you try to emulate what the good players like myself do .

pro tip: if you have the flank on a group of enemies take them out in this order low health suits (scouts and logis) including the injured. then fast suits because they can close the distance quick . then your choice after. my order of importance is based off of what suit, gun ,or tactic my opponent is using. Try your best to only hit the person you are intent on killing otherwise you will have someone else notice you. which will lead to him shooting your directions which alerts and triggers the thirst for blood the rest of the group has....which then turns into 3+ vs 1. unless you are a beast 1v3 isn't fun lol

depending on how new you are and how much time you have spent in the game you might want to debate creating a new character with the recruitment link as it will give you some major benefits that include a recruit Assault rifle BPO (non consumable rifle to save isk) and after playing for a while longer you will receive even more of these BPO's including a sidearm and a free drop suit that can really be essential to a new player and how much fun you have

I wish somone had told me that before I made my account as it wouldve made everything a whole lot easier

you have to use a recruitment link to make an account then you can reap the benefits of being a "recruit"

you can use my link included below or find a friend with one as they will also receive some rewards

as far as playing the actual game, be patient try to use your free suits as much as possible before trying out better fittings and if you can squad up with people do it

getting a microphone can help but it is not necessary although the time you spend with other players and the conversations you can have can be the most fun depending on who you run with

click here if you are making a new account and want some free BPO's |

Pay attention to server lag. It's real. Everything (graphics, sound effects and damage registration) take a good second at least ro catch up most times. Working around that can go a long way in dealing with players that take a while to shoot down.
