Not saying that we have had some useless events but we have had a few complaints in the past, so lets change it by actually coming up with some decent event ideas. Ive already suggested a players VS CCP once , so i'll start with a 'side arm event' which is one full weekend where you cannot use heavy or primary weapons at all, not even fit them, just side arms. i run calmando so it would be funny to have a double bolt pistol showdown with some mercs packing ions or scrambler pistols.

This I agree. This krin's event is difficult, I pull out a rail tank to get the redline installations there is always a proto forge sitting there or a proto rail tank vs my std. I try to hack something with my minja fit but not min assaults are faster than me or the enemy gets there first and gets me while hacking. My point is, not every player is focused into a hacking scout or a rail tanker. So there should be events where every role has a benefit.
You can complain all you want about lasers. Despite the nerfs it will rip you to shreds.

It's one thing to have people complain about events that they don't like that they don't have to take part in. If an event sucks, an event sucks. It's another entirely to force every single player to take part in the event even if they don't like it. Sidearm idea is bad idea. HAVs and assault dropships would become unstoppable that weekend. What do they have to worry about? The turrets they already took out from the redline? The tanks and dropships on the other team they'll be avoiding as much as the other team will be avoiding them? Unless you would suggest removing vehicles that weekend, also, basically turning every match into a game of Ambush. And what about squads with their orbitals? Can they still get kills with those, or would they be removed for the weekend, too, basically removing everything the game has to offer and turning it into Call of Duty?
Everyone would be using Flaylocks, Bolt Pistols, Nova Knives, or the Black Eagle Assault Rifle, which is a light weapon that goes into the sidearm slot.
For an event that everyone can take part in, why not just an event that encourages players to step out of their normal boundaries and try different suits and roles? Rather than something that forces players to play a specific way the entire time? |

Idea of event: Every fight randomly choose some (1-4) players in each team and mark them. Every kill before first death gives them X points. First player to kill marked player gets Y points (Y>X). And add some nerfs to marked players (like make them visible for whole enemy team for 5 seconds after every kill) to make them easier to track(after first death player becomes unmarked, and maybe next player gets marked). And maybe color their names in kill log. These points accumulate from every fight. After event ends, players get rewards based on amount of accumulated points(the more the better).
P.S. Add option to become unmarked at any moment (to remove nerfs). Players must know that they're marked. |

like some kind of 'High Value Target' event? sounds pretty fun,

I have something like this brewing on both EvE and Dust forums now (linked to my signature) my kinda think tank channel for this is well also the same as my signature. ONE UNIVERSE//ONE WAR
ONE UNIVERSE//ONE WAR
